Question about the front tire size...

I'm looking to try something different in the front tire.  I'm currently running a Metzler ME880.  It's been a great tire (as all previous ME880's I've had), but I'm just itching to try something new.

Would a 130/90-17 work on the front?? Or is it too skinny??  I'm thinking that or an Avon front since the Avons have a more triangular shape.

By the way... CT on back... 205/60-16.

Any thoughts?

Can't help on the odd size, but I'll say the avon seems the best combo with a CT to me...smooth and easy and sticks like it's on rails.

CajunRider:

Check out this thread: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,975.0.html

Specifically look at the posts by me and FlaJim.

I have experienced high speed instability with a MT90HB17 (equivalent to a 130/90-17) on the front and a 205/60-16 on the rear.  On the other hand, I like the advantages of the MT90HB17 on the front and I now have about 13,000 miles with that combination.

Due to the high speed instability problems, I do not recommend the combination.

I got 2 sitting in my shop waiting for the stock front tires to wear out. I got the Avon rear tires from Jake Wilson. High speed wobble can be several things. I'm not scared of mounting these at all. Will be mounting these backward. After looking at the stock front thread pattern and putting the 13/90/17 backward the threads looks correct by mounting them backward .
