9/11 is tomorrow...my question is, when somebody, filled with hate like so many of you, commits an atrocity such as bombing a mosque or killing some innocent Muslims tomorrow, will you celebrate?  I mean it's been the talk of the board - all the John Wayne-ism and internet bravado, how the Muslims need to wiped out, and there are no "moderate" Muslims.

So, will you celebrate the act, our call them terrorists?  If they are "Christians", will that make all Christians terrorists?

Just curious.

You're ignorance about Christianity is well documented. A true Christian would not kill anybody
for revenge nor would they celebrate if it happened.

I seriously doubt anyone here will or wants to bomb a mosque.  "talk of the board"  I read almost every post, I missed that one.  Scanner.......tomorrow marks the day that thousands were murdered at the hands of Islamic terrorists.  I Honor the lives of each one and of every firefighter, policman and EMS worker that responded.  That call was right up there with going to combat, many knew they would not escape with their lives but they went in anyway.

This is not a "day of service"

This is not a day of religious reconciliation

this is not a day to soul search and figure out how we brought this on ourselves.

This is a day to NEVER FORGET that Islamic terrorists murdered 2,976 people and to Honor the dead and pray for their families!

Just curious.

Scanner this is a notice.  This is not an argument and it's not an opportunity for you to defend your behavior.

You've repeatedly posted with broad brushed disdain for the members of the VRCC.  You've habitually utilized ridicule of individual members in your posts.  You've generally displayed disrespect to both individuals and at times the entire population of this board.  You have long since ceased posting in anything other than political and divisive threads.

The old adage is that if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.  You, my friend, are certainly not all of or even most of the problem, but lately you are definitely not part of the solution.

It's my job to maintain, as best I can, some reasonable level of civility on the board.  It seems I'm regularly losing ground in my efforts of late and I'm at the end of my patience.

If you don't very soon display some positive contribution to this community I'll make it my choice to remove your welcome.

Please consider carefully whether you wish to continue to be a part of these discussions.

Ya know, I can't believe a smart guy like you would post such crap.  Although there has been a lot of statements made on this board concerning muslims and islam, even an ignoramus like me realizes that no one here wishes harm to peaceful, moderate, muslims that condemn the radicals.  The problem is the peaceful, moderate, muslims don't condemn the radicals.  If a terrorist radical muslim is killed tomorrow, YOU BET YOUR ASS I will celebrate, that will be one less out to kill you and me.  Not my words, THEIRS.

Now, I don't plan to go radical terrorist muslim hunting tomorrow, I'd like to ride Shanaynay in peace.

If you still don't get it, oh well.  The statements made by the mosque builder in NY prove to me that he is not about building a bridge between us, he is about thumbing their collective radical, muslim, terrorist noses at us and the innocent victims of THEIR HATE, not ours.

I've heard about enough of your crap, but it is a free country (for the time being), so post away.  I hope you enjoy your 9/11.  I will mourn the innocent victims.

Scanner, from the post I read the only hate I see is coming from you towards us? I know by reading all the posts over the years, that there are people here that will bend over backwards to help complete strangers who ride a great motorcycle. We Amwericans unite to mourn the loss of the innocent and brave. 9/11 is a day of rememberance and mourning. If you believe other wise, you are not an American to me.

So... the imam insists on building the mosque er, I mean "interfaith center" at ground zero, refuses to consider moving it and insinuates that there might be muslim violence if the "interfaith center" is not built exactly where he says it should be built, and cites America's Constitution (First amendment rights) as justification for the construction of the "interfaith center" near "ground zero." And some Americans might protest but probably not through violence. The protests will not be that they don't have the right to build the center, but that it is not the right thing to do and that it will divide rather than unify the people who find the issue to be of interest.

Then a Christian pastor with a congregation lets it be known that he and about 50 of his congregation will be exercising their first amendment rights by burning copies of the Quran (that they own). In response the muslim world (on several continents) erupts in violent demonstrations and chants of "DEATH TO AMERICA."

Scanner, I think you're worried about violence coming from the wrong group... Probably just another annoying side effect of that Kool-Aid you've been drinking.

There is a cure, you can kick the Kool-Aid habit. But ya gotta wanna. Personally, I believe that Christianity is the real "religion of peace" (and hope, and joy).

Bible says you live by the sword you die by the sword.

There is a place (Isaiah, I think) where it speaks about the end times and says "And they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks..." People love to quote this. But in the same book, also talking about the end times (preliminary to the above verse, I think), where it says "... they shall beat their plows into swords, and their pruning hooks into spears..." We don't hear this verse quoted so often.

(Now I gotta go look up exactly where it says this, and exactly what it says. Okay, I will. Soon.)

I think that in a few years people will have forgotten about the 9-11 terrorists.  If you look and see all the Hondas and Nissans and Toyotas, you can see that people have already forgotten about the Pearl harbor attack on America that actually killed more Americans than the 9-11 attacks.  I believe that history will repeat itself.

Scanner;

With your remark you have disappointed me and have tarnished the family spirit of this board. Your attack on the VRCC membership, who I consider friends, family and confidants saddens me.

In over ten years as president of this organization and with the 1000's of members we have; I have found just one person who's mission is to purposefully looks to take down the VRCC.

You are that person.

I apologize to my board members, Carl, Scott and Connie and all the members that support our mission who did not sign on for this grief .

And all those folks that have suffered the horrific effects from the 9/11 tragedy I also apologize for the disrespect demonstrated by this person's remark.

Well, Willow and Oz, if you read my post it referred to SOME as hate filled.  I could provide a stream of examples where lies and racist language has been utilized to disrespect the President of the USA, immigrants, gays and on...  Sorry, but those kind of people are not part of my "family spirit" and deserve all the disrespect that can be gathered for them.

As far as disrespect for "folks that have suffered the horrific effects from the 9/11 tragedy" within my post, there is none - in fact, just the opposite is true, but that wouldn't be obvious to some.

In any case, I'll be bowing out of the conversation here. There is a definite slant to the board and it's moderators, and I and a few others have always been outnumbered, but seldom outgunned  Wink . I have especially respected Willow's posts - we disagree on much, but he is very well spoken cooldude

I've enjoyed some of the debate, and can't deny there is definitely a cast of characters who post here.

9/11, when somebody, filled with hate, committed an atrocity, bombing the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Did they celebrate? Do moderate Muslims condemn those act? If they do, aren't they simply targeted by the extremists? Do you have any idea of how many men and women have died to preserve the freedom you use to spout off? We have the freedom to burn our flag in this country. I personally lost two friends in the flights from Boston. I WILL NEVER FORGET. Excuse me while I scrape you off my shoe, you didn't say "some", you said "so many of you". Liar. Willow you have my vote.
