I had been saving and planning for a Valk trip to Dead Horse, Alaska this coming summer. I got laid off from HP in November, but I was still planning on going anyway somehow...

We just got some news though that's pretty much the death knell for any long motorcycle trips for us anytime soon...

The spousal unit is pregnant...

Well, with that news, I was still planning on hoping to be able to pull it off before the baby was delivered...

But see, we had the first sonogram this morning...

Seems she's carrying a litter... There's 3 of 'em...   crazy2 crazy2 crazy2

Oh boy, this is gonna be interesting!

Holy cow, how did that happen?

Seems she's carrying a litter... There's 3 of 'em...

Not only do you not get to go to Alaska, you now get to retire at 88 years old.

Best of luck pardner.

Hate to see you cancel the trip, but what a great reason you have to do so.

Congrats, Sir and Madame!  That's quite an accomplishment.  Now there will be the minor task of rearing them.  I think that is great.  They are fortunate children to be coming into your home. L

Ya' know... We've had numerous sonograms. I've seen all 3 babies kicking and wiggling around, I've heard all 3 of their heartbeats numerous times (And those are all wondrous things, don't get me wrong!) but nothing really brings home the adventure we're about to go on quite like parking THIS in your living room!

Thanks again ya'll! Hope ya'll don't mind if I ramble and stuff in this thread...

We're at 16 weeks now, the latest sonograms are starting to look like babies instead of blobs...

Also, the doctor is 98% sure of the genders... Looks like 2 boys and 1 girl, which, with our 8 year old girl thrown into the mix means the family will be split 50/50 with 3 males and 3 females (Including me and the spousal unit.)

How early are they?   Triplets are always early.

Yeah, they were scheduled to be born at 34/35 weeks, but we've been moved up to 31, just shy of 32 weeks...

Basically, one of the 3 babies has stopped growing, and the blood flow through his umbilical cord is slowing down, so..... No major emergency or anything, but there's no advantage to leaving 'em in any longer now, since he's stopped growing. The only way for him to grow now is to do so outside the womb so....

Typing this in from the hospital... So far so well, looks like they'll be born Friday around 1:30 PM or so. They gave her a steroid shot to help the babies lungs develop to be ready for delivery, and that takes 48 hours, so that's the clock ticking down now...

Thanks ya'll... We're in the big Presby...

If anyone's curious, we finally got the medical term for the condition that Blake (Baby C) has that's moving the delivery forward. Googling on the term, I better understand how serious this is, and why they're moving us forward so quickly. It's called "absent end diastolic flow" if anyone wants to google on it... Scary stuff, and as far as that scary stuff goes, if we're gonna have it, we seem to be getting it in about the best conditions possible at least...
