Does anyone know of a trunk that can go on/off an OEM rack easily, and opens left to right, or front to back? Would like to have one that can be thrown on in a hurry, and that will work with the sissybar and rack. Hoping to find a hard trunk with a lock.
Been looking, but haven't seen anything yet.

http://www.giviusa.com/i have one of the monokey trunks, you will need a E250 fitment plate that will clamp directly to you luggage rack, you will have to remove the sissy bar, but the trunk has its own cushion for a backrest one of the great things about givi is that you can unlock the trunk from the bike and carry it like a suitcase

I have a Givi Monokey on my trike. It's a nice trunk, but not what I want on my dragon. Ideally, I would leave the sissybar and pad on the bike, and a trunk will strap on the rack and open side/side or front to back, because of the sissybar.
I guess no such animal exists. I like soft bags better then hard bags anyway. Would just be nice to have a trunk that could lock. Oh well.

I have the DB black one blackcats link with the spoiler lights, I wired the LEDs and tail lights with a boat trailor plug, four bolts and unplug it. Its not as big as an I/S trunk but serves its porpose, will hold a full face helmet and it locks.

Chiefy...... Have you checked out BossBags? http://www.bossbags.com/trunkbags.html It's lockable too. Then there's LeatherLyke...... http://www.leatherlyke.com/stores/showdetl.cfm?&DID=13&Product_ID=76&CATID=6 They're lockable too. Then if ya want to get a little spendy, there's a Harley trunk....... They're not lockable, however, there are lock kits for the Harley trunks on ebay and elsewhere that make 'em lockable.

Prices don't look too bad on their bags... Looks like you could get fiberglass bags with a mounting kit for under $200...

Chiefy..... Here's a youtube video I found of a guy that's put a LeatherLyke trunk (with some Mustang bags) on his Yamaha. Might give you an idea of how it functions and maybe a better perspective of how it looks on a bike.......

Chiefy. Hit me with your email and I'll send you a pic of a Goldwing trunk I installed on my Tourer. Cheap and looks like it belongs on a Valk. Check my profile for my email Thanks BF. Have been to the LL site, and retailers numerous times, but have never seen the LL trunk. It sure looks like what I want.

I wanted to ask rrmdeuce a question. Does the saddlebag lid open without hitting the trunk? Or did you change the lids to interstate type?
Also, did the mounting brackets and hardware come from Mutazu, or did you have to fab it all yourself?

csj, The bags open without hitting the trunk as Tourer bags not as Interstate bags. I fabricated the bracket myself out of 3/16 plate and some U channel welded to the top and drilled for the 4 mounting bolts, then bolt to your existing sissy bar brackets. ease peasy lemon squeezie. I wanted to ask rrmdeuce a question. Does the saddlebag lid open without hitting the trunk? Or did you change the lids to interstate type?

Here's what those Mustangs look like on a Valk Chiefy........ The Mustangs are what I'm wanting/planning to buy for my Valk. I likey.....alot. I'm planning on pairing them up with one of those Harley trunks. Here's a link where member Warlock and I were talking about mounting them (that's his blue and cream Valk in the pic)....... http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,24823.0.htmlAnd here's a link to a discussion about mounting hard bags with Easy Brackets..... http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,25181.msg225951.html#msg225951

This mounted to my 89 T I know it's not for everyone. If you try hard you can get this with wrap around backrest and chrome top rack. I found that out after, I got mine can't find to the seller to get the extras. If you find them let me know.

What kind of trunk is that capt.? Looks sharp......I like it.
How's it mounted? Is it mounted to the OEM luggage rack? I'm curious as to how much weight your trunk weighs and if you've had any issues with it mounted like it is.

How's it mounted? Has a hard plastic base it sits on the luggage rack.
Is it mounted to the OEM luggage rack? Yes Four bolts, I need to rework the mount a little to support the flag mount. That a Glen's VTX license plate flag mount I flattened in the vice.

Not sure of the weight, Doesn't hold two full face helmets like the OEM Valk interstate, I have not had any issues yet. My gal does like the IS rear set up a lot more. LOL
