What I did that worked for me on a Valk sitting with gas in the carbs for 3 years was: pull the tank, drain the bowls, using a small funnel carefull pour Yamalube carb cleaner undiluted into the gas line, hit the starter to draw into jets and let sit oner night. rebuild in a can. I did mine 2 times because the first time it only sat for 1 hour and it wasn't long enough. good luck, Pat

Pat, how long did you actually "hit the starter"? I was wondering so as to keep the cleaner in the carb and not so much in the cylinders.

I let my CB550 hobby bikes get a little too neglected, and am looking for an easy way out on bringing them back to life w/o having a major carb party, TJ. I did use 100% SeaFoam straight to the carbs before they set up.
I did make a trip to the Yamaha dealer yesterday and the only Yamaha branded stuff they had was the stuff that is to be used to clean the carb parts when the rubber seals are to be replaced. In other words, it said on the bottle that it would swell the rubber parts. It that the stuff you guys are using?
I bought some Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment while I was there. Felt like I was cheating on SeaFoam and Al's!. Guess I was. ~Jeff

With the price of petro going thru the roof, you can probably fly the Southwest "bus" for about the same, or maybe less bucks, Gezzzzz? Give me a jingle when you have some time for eats.
Got the K model running today with the good help of SideCar, Trey, and their truck battery! Gorgeous day, eh! Thanks, guys!!! ~Jeff

I purchased the Yamalube this week and did just what you said to do Pat, but for some reason the lube will not move into the carbs when I hit the starter button, even with the throttle open. Disco came out and hepled me get the carbs emptied and then fill up with the lube. Hopefully this will help the throttle response and the engine will not die when I touch it.

the label is the same, the container looks a little different. 32oz water-dilutable. Don't dilute however
