After seeing Old geezers extra lights I just had to add more...  busted my buttocks on these.

Relayed, fused and independent of the OEM harness...

Then I added a new T- Bag to the tail end... $35.00 AND free shipping... gallery here:

Excellent bag... excellent!

I like this mod better than lights stuck on the bags. where did you get the lights? LEDs?

Everything I added was LED so the additional draw was low.  I did run the circuits separate through a fuse block and relays up under the seat.  I had to fabricate the bracket... which surprisingly, took a long time...  my bags are so slanted I couldn't find anything I liked.  i got the Cat Eyes at JP cycles for 38.00 ea. and the little square ones at Autozone for about 9.00 ea.

As for the bag... go here:  http://www.tbags.com/CloseOutDetail.aspx?ID=69&SelectedCat=17

I am not sure... but i would nearly betcha that the saddle bags are Champions... but they were just on the bike when i bought it.  Other than being small and having somewhat flimsy latches they are very well made... and painted in OEM colours complete with the orange pinstrip.

BTW... i have the OEM rear lens... I am just waiting for an LED 1157.  It's coming tomorrow...

I'd like to ask if you'd put your bike in the garage, or wait til night
then take a picture of the lights, to see the brightness next
to your brake lights.

That'd help. Any chance?

Not sure that those are Champions, could you take a side shot and post it here?

Also, what kind of luggage rack is that.  I'm looking for something to mount a trunk too.  Yours looks beefy.  Got any pics of that you could post too?

csj,

I am working on those shots you want to see...

BF,

I have a personal website here: http://culleynet.com/

The galleries are here: http://www.culleynet.com/zen/

The Valk galleries are here: http://www.culleynet.com/zen/1998-valkyrie-tourer/

The side shot of the Valk is here: http://www.culleynet.com/zen/1998-valkyrie-tourer/DSC07558_X1150.jpg.php?p=*full-image

If you can help identify my bags... that would be great.  the rear rack is an OEM Honda rack.  It might look beefy because I have a mounting plate for a snap on tail bag attached...

Your mounts definitely look like Champion mounts.  The bags however, I'm not sure about.  The look very much like the Champion Liberty series saddlebags......but not exactly.  Maybe they're a newer/older version of the Liberty.

I'm still curious about your luggage rack mount.  Can you give me more info on your mounting plate on the OEM luggage rack you have?  Is it an aftermarket thing, or is it something you fab'ed up?

BF...

I have one of these: http://www.jcwhitney.com/motorcycle-travel-trunks/p2010969.jcwx?filterid=j3

I know, I know... I am not overwhelmingly pleased with the way it looks... but my Valk is a daily rider and this tail box facilitates taking my laptop and my portable hard-drive as well as a few other things back and forth to work.  I'm a high school teacher...

It looks like this on the bike: http://culleynet.com/?p=1207

Hola compadres

Newbie here, thought that I'd add my own mod here, hope you don't mind. For those of us with the el cheapo  "VIP"  trunk with LED lights ( This one ). You may have noticed that the LED's are none too bright in the "spoiler" light bar. Also the side lights turned out not to have brake lights at all.

So I went digging at Tanner Electronics for HI LED's and found these babies there:

3 LED's in a pack, pre-resistors and all, just hook up to 12VDC. Even with nice adhesive patch in the back. Just what the doctor ordered

5 of those modules fit inside the light bar chained just nice, once I had binned the old LED board with the stupid "running light" feature

A little dry run for testing, looking pretty good IMHO

....add a couple more into the side lights.....

And after some feverish soldering, taping and shrink tubing......

... let there be LIGHT!!

Not bad for $3.95 a pop LED modules and an afternoon's worth of tinkering in the garage  Cool

Cheers!

Orvo

That looks tasty Sigrun... I like to be seen from all sides...

csj... I have those evening shots...

First, this is my mod just at dusk in natural mode...

Second... this is my mod with the brakelights actiavted...

Third... this is my mod just moments later AFTER I installed the LED 1157 replacement in the OEM  tail light housing...

Fourth... this is the brakelights activated...

Be advised that light is a funny thing.  It is hard to capture accurate representations without a lot of trial and error work... which I just do not have time to do now... because I have a list as long as my arm to complete before I head out to Big Bend for the week of spring break... come ride with us....

See the event link here.  (sorry different forum):  http://www.goldwingfacts.com/forums/forum2/102933.html

Gotta jet... sausage is on the grill and the cornbread is in the oven....

Thank-you very much for those pictures. I'd like to rig up a bit
more light on my tourer. With my spots on the front, I'm sure
people are seeing me at night.
But that single tailight on the rear, I think I've been lucky so far,
nobody has hit me.
I like your set-up.
