This is my 3rd day in a row on the Valk. That' snot happened since my son was born 3 years ago.
Starting Junw 1st this year, he's going to a montessori school only 3 doors away from home. I'll get to ride a lot more THIS year.
Mom works 10 hour days... and it's a burden for her to run daycare.

I'm guessing it was about 50 when I left this morning, but I know for sure I had to take the jacket liner out during my awesome lunch ride... -Mike

Not only did I get to ride to work & back, I got to do an additional 100 miles to see my dentist! Sometimes there is a silver lining to a failed root canal, especially when it's an old one from when they were still using silver... The ride back to work was sunny approaching 60. Had a real hard time pulling in to the parking lot. About ready to get the mesh gear out.

I rode in today, even though there is the threat of rain...which it did just as I was pulling into my parking lot at the office. I knew it would rain because I spent all day Friday cleaning and polishing.

today just felt like cheating. I'm still not used to leaving my jacket hanging on the door knob as I leave in the morning. Jumping on the valk and not hitting the choke is odd too. It is a beautiful day to commute so I did.

I rode Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week, but didn't ride today even though it is nice out. They are calling for some pretty major thunderstorms later this morning and all afternoon...and I just wasn't feeling it. So I took the Jeep.

I didn't ride to work on the 10th, that's a Saturday. I did ride, but I didn't come nowhere near to work. Lucky me. Monday has snuck back up and come around again. So off to work I go. I only have about 3 more weeks of this job and in this state until I leave it all behind and ride north. These last three weeks will either be the longest or the shortest possible. Commute to ride, ride to commute.

Picked up the bike from the shop on Saturday, 95K check-up, got it washed so naturally there were a few raindrops on the way in to work otherwise a wonderful day to ride to work. Only thing to make it better would to be not at work and riding. Ten more days until I head out for Key West.

Well it's the lucky 13th, no surprises riding in this morning. The wind is supposed to howl at 25 to 50 mph today. I guess if we were down on the coast they would issue a hurricane warning but hey, it's just Kansas in April, it's all normal. Chain the cats and dogs down so they don't blow away.

Dropped my roommate off at the airport and went back to the house to swap the cage for the bike. A little on the chilly side but hey, it is April in Chicago .... just hope it don't snow!

Everyday for the last 2 1/2 weeks 'cept for last Friday.... Had to pick up four 6x8 privacy fence panels. A bit hard to do on the Valk! Even when I dropped off the Valk for the new tire I rode Kim's Valk instead!

Ummm... I don't think I missed a day yet.. I did skip outta town last week and had to run to the hill country for 4 days. The blue bonnets and the rest of the wild flowers are outstanding this year. Best I've seen in many years.

A bit chilly on the way in today (43 F), but lunch time and the ride home this afternoon should be really good. Unrelated: Why is it when I think there's a problem with the Valk, it always turns out to be my supidity? Washed the bike a couple of weekends ago and had 70+ miles on the trip odo. During the wash, I inadvertently rotated the reset knob, so I had to roll it back to zero and made a mental note that I already had 70 miles on this tank of fuel. Put about 60 more miles on last Saturday (see where this is going?) Replaced the carb springs last weekend with I/S springs. Went out Monday after work for a quick spin and five miles down the road she started sputtering. I immediately questioned myself about what I screwed up when replacing the carb springs. Switched to reserve and she perked right up. What? No way she can be low on fuel after only 68 miles! Back on normal.....sputtering resumes. Back to reserve and everything's right. Head to the gas station and only then did I remember that I had reset the trip odo two weekends ago, as the tank sucked up 4.1 gallons of fuel. Idiot!

I rode today. It's been a pretty good week...4 out of 5. Only drove the Jeep on Tuesday because it was raining. It looks like rain out there today and is supposed to storm this evening, but was dry when I left the house. I just hope it holds off until after lunch. I have a lunch meeting to go to. I don't really care about riding home in the rain at the end of the day. It's just a pain to have to put rain gear on for a 3 mile ride to the restaurant where I'm meeting this other guy for work.

All Y'alls is killing me Guess I is jealous In Jan I tore a tendon in my left calf. 8 weeks off work. Go back to work for 2 weeks and during a training exercise, a 200 lb metal beam slipped and dropped on my chest . Yea it hurt. The hospital gave me 3 rounds of morphine (15mg), wasn't enough...but with another med I was in la la land and then out Don't laugh, cough or sneeze.... any way, been off for 2 weeks at this point and going for a bone scan on Tue to see if I fractured the cartilage connecting the sternum and ribs. Needless to say, haven't been able to ride since Jan. I thank God that I am alive... Right now I'm on arm chair duty
