Worst possible time for government to cut spending. It will only make this recession worse.
How it spends money may need to be better thought out. But cutting now will increase unemployment, decrease buying and revenue.
It's never simple, but, like in everything else, balance is key.

If you do not have it to spend, and you are over borrowed....there is no longer an option.

PISS OFF and stop throwing money at your problems. It is that simple. Pull the head out and suck it up!

Cost 20.1 billion dollars a year for air conditioning in Irag and Afghanistan. Our war costs are heading toward the 4 trillion dollar mark. Last year the US war on drugs cost the taxpayer over 15 billion dollars and what do we have, Mexico heading toward a failed state status but on the other hand, one can buy the best medical cannabis money can buy in CA from dozens of locations. .56 cents from every tax dollar is spent protecting us from one thing or another and making some very very rich. Big business and financial institutions are sitting on 2.5 trillion dollars but we won't tax them because they earning it  and we'll make them mad and they'll move to China.

Give them another couple of years maybe they can buy the US on a fire sale.

Hush! Don't you know that it's all the fault of Romneycare and and labor unions?

NO MONEY !  Hold out both hands and crap in one of them..you can spend every thing you have in both hands now.

I just get a kick out the people who keep saying that. I just have this feeling that they'll be the first to complain when there are no luxuries like paved roads, schools, water, electricity etc.

The city I grew up in (Malden Massachusetts, a suburb right outside of Boston) had a competitive rifle team. We were good too, won a lot of championships actually. So before you make the mistake of thinking that only people in flyover country have guns and can shoot them, well, think again.  Wink

It takes more than a rifle to hold the fort....and your "village" skills are lacking from what you show us here.  I'll bet you hold more high cards than you are showing    Wink
