Author Topic: Boy Now has NO Ears  (Read 6796 times)

A careless pet owner is in Jail. Let me make that two are in Jail. Both of the owners.

They did not keep up the Pit Bull Mix, and of course a small child or young boy.

Paid the price.

He was drug down the road by the Pit Bull Mix and by his ears at that.

His Dad fought the dog off and was hindered by another dog out off of a leash.

His ears were found by his Dad after the boy was safe, but bitten and mauled by the big animal.

The ears could not be reattached.

The other dog was shot fatally.

The Pitbull Mix is under observation.

If this was my kid the law would not have to interveen, the Dog 1st and then the Owner would have no ears.

Just my thoughts.

That's about ( 4 ) attack's that I know of in east Tennessee in the last year or so. A 22 year old woman lost her life when a pit bull attacked her last year. One even comes close to my yard where my grand-daughter plays and it will not be going home.Al you are well aware of the fence I put around the yard you helped me with it  cooldude  It's only purpose was so Presley would have a safe place to play....The minnow d**k owner that had pit's down the road is nolonger around here and I'm very happy with that fact . Picture below is the 10 year old that was attacked last week. It would'nt bother me one bit if every pit-bull / pit-bull mix  in the world dropped dead .

Amen to that, some people just do not need to have animals.  I had a neighbor years ago that had an aggressive pit bull that he let run loose and would not control.  Tried to talk to him several times, got cussed out for my trouble. Several times he went after me in my own yard, 4th time I sent him to his maker, I had 2 young kids at the time and feared for them.

Aggressive animals period.....just not all the red ones or the bushy tailed kind or tall ones.

It aint the breed....it's the individual. I have told many people to put their animal down or get rid of it....they always look at me like they have NO FREAKIN CLUE as to why. Most were NOT pitbull breeds.

my cuz married a lady that raised pit's.  after a while he came to the decision that it's not if, only when they will go off.  it's bred into them.

Being a responsible owner of a rescued staffordshire terrier who was abused I find your last sentence very uninformed about the breed, classing them all together. coolsmiley

We just had a postman attacked a PB/mix.  He shoved a handful of mail into the dog's mouth and escaped.  Turns out the dog had a prior attack.  Scary stuff.

I guess if you can find a dachshund with the bite force of a pit you could walk around with it and let everyone know how badass you are like most of the pit owners do.

The owners "badass" attitude is no fault of the dog. It does speak of how the dog has been handled and what breeding stock was chosen ( indiscriminate and inbred, probably ) but you can not tell by the color of his fur !

I own a Pitbull, he actually belongs to my son who moved to Denver, pitbulls are illegal there. He is one of the sweetest & obedient dogs we've ever had, he is very sensitive, yell at him & he will sulk for hours. That said, he would, as any large dog would, be quite dangerous is something set him off. He tolerates other dogs reasonably well but gets along with people very well. If he attacked anyone, especially a kid, I would shoot him on the spot myself. I think its mostly about how they're treated & raised. As sweet as he is I would not choose to have another, due to potential liability .

I'm afraid we're going to have to draw the line at pasta bashing.  Joe, I'm sure we're both well aware that until you've sampled all the spaghettis in the world (or in the universe for that matter), you simply cannot espouse that you hate all spaghetti.  The best you can hope to claim is that you are disinclined to approve of any of the spaghetti of which you have already partaken.   Wink

Oh, sorry about the hijack.

As to the original subject, I enjoy animals, but I do not worship them nor hold them on a par with humans.  I believe any domestic animal that executes an unprovoked injurious attack on a human being, especially on a child, should be put down.  I believe any wild animal that succeeds in killing a human being should be destroyed.

Unfortunately there seem to be some animal owners that take pride in the unprovoked aggressiveness of their four legged wards.

I have to agree with Willow, Joe...you can't hate all spaghetti until you've had all the spaghetti in existence....

Now Brussels sprouts...you can definitely hate all of them without trying them all.... Cheesy

I would have to disagree

The assumtion is that Joe hates spagetti because of the taste.
If we, however, assume that Joe hates spagetti because it looks like a plate of bloody worms, then yes, he can hate all spagetti because all spagetti looks like a plate of worms.

Futher, if you find Brussel sprouts in your spagetti,  you are not paranoid. Someone is out to get you.

Jess, I respectfully disagree.Yes Pit Bulls are bred oftentimes by people like Mike Vick for fighting, that was not their original purpose, although, reportedly even many of those dogs have been rehabilitated. However, I would not trust those dogs around kids. All large dogs have the potential to turn & do great damage. Its the Pit bulls, Rotts & Chows you hear about. The most vicious dog I've run across was a Toy Poodle. Our dog has been raised from a puppy in a very loving environment & his temperment has been shaped by that. As I said, he was my sons dog, I would not have chosen a pit bull.

Are we talking pitbulls or spaghetti. A year ago I got home from work and my wife tells me that she was walking my sisters spaghetti to a park in our subdivision when out of nowhere she sees a huge lasagna no leash run towards her and jump my sisters spaghetti, she was so scared she let go of the leash and both plates disappeared into the park. Seconds later the owner runs past her calling on his lasagna. Minutes later he reappears and was holding the lasagna by the collar and moves on. My wife was still shacking and went to look for the spaghetti and found her unharmed under a bush. I was so furious I went looking for the a$$hole, couldn't find him. Went out the next day with a camera and found him  (early thirties shirtless and pans on the ground)  with his buddies and his lasagna with no leash. I started filming and called the cops. He saw me and approached with what the @#uk I wanted attitude. I told him not to step any closer and of what happened the day before inserting a curse word between every other word and that the cops were on their way. He got in his truck and left and never came to the neighborhood again. I have zero tolerance for ignorant and arrogant losers when they endanger my family.

By defintion PITBULL the name came from fighting dogs in a pit and they were the kings of the pit or the baddest bull in the barn yard. All dogs can be dangerous but why take a chance with one that you have to pry its jaws open with a crow bar. The breed was bred for fighting that is how it came about.

I've spent the batter part of my life (since me early teens) volunteering for animal shelters here. At one time I've fostered/owned 5 dogs, 11 cats and a rabbit so my "animal lover" credentials are solid. I've seen a LOT of pits come through for various reasons over the years and I will NOT allow my children around them. Bad owners exist as well, but pit bulls are a problem breed.

I've had pitbulls and such all my life, ya just gotta know they're born knowing "dog karate".
The picture that stands out most in my mind was at the post office. It was a warning about dog safety. It was a Pekinese behind a chain link fence.
My dog dosent like spaghetti either. Maybe you two would get along.

No, they're born with bad wiring. Lots of dogs know "dog karate" (basically biting the crap out of you) but it's the unpredictability that makes them unsuitable pets. If I had a dime for every family that brought in a three year old pit with the story that they were the "best dog in the world" until they tried to take the youngest child's face off, and that's the other thing about them that makes me dislike the breed; they reliably attack children.

But you see defects in other breeds as well, just with different manifestations. German Shepherds (my favorite breed) have been inbred to the point where many don't live past 7 years because of hip problems. Dalmations have been inbred for perfect spots and they can be ornery. Even Golden Retrievers have suffered due to the popularity of the breed and the inbreeding for the perfect coat shade.
