This came up due to another thread where I had mentioned that I intend to install the cruise control when I lift the tank to desmog and change air filters etc.

Bullgoose sent me a message asking where I bought the Audiovox, and I sent him the link to Murphs Kits. He sent me another message saying the kits only came with monitoring for the computer module tach and a magnet install for the drive shaft. I checked the site, and apparently he's right. I dug the CC out of my procrastination pile in the basement, and it does have some magnets and a sensor.

I would like to hear from some of you who have installed this unit recently (Hey, Fordmano Smiley ). Has the function and operation of this unit changed recently, or is this the norm?

Instructions from Dave Sproul on angelfire.com and our own Shoptalk (Audiovox CCS-100 Cruise Control Submitted by QueXpress (Normand in QUÉBEC) both say the blue wire goes to the negative on one of the coils.

Can we ignore the Audiovox instructions on this and still go with Normand and Dave? I need to know before I eventually get around to it, and bullgoose (and others) will need to know before making the purchase.

I purchased one from Murphs Kits, to replace the one that failed   Sad  .

Their CC is EXACTLY like the original.  cooldude .  Follow any of the recommended installation posts available in shop talk and everything will work fine.

My new one works perfectly.

Same here, I installed mine this spring and used QueXpress's instructions with no problems.

i have installed 4 of them with no issues one on my  standard  one on my interstate one on my 1981 gold wing and one on my 2004 vt 750 c they all went well .. pick up some long needle nose plyers from harbor freight . you will be happy you did. look for the good heat srink with the sealer in it to adapt  the hoses to the one way valves do not use duck tape iit don't line the heat . you do not have to remove the air box to add this unit ... search there theres pictures of mine some place
