Rode up to the Dragon. And a new Dragon Rookie went with me. My wife. She rode the whole way and did not scream once. She must be crazy riding with me on the Dragon. Smooth Rider tried hard to keep her spirits up and must have suceeded. Here's to Sandy the New Dragon Slayer(SURVIVOR). Only had two go off a cliff so far today. It happened at Mile Marker 1 and a 1/2 from the North Carolina State Line. I rushed to the Deal's Gap to get to a land line. Cell phones do not work in this remote outpost. Greg stayed behind to help and caught up to us. The call went out and all the help was rolling. Three deputies and tow Highway Patrol, Rescue Squad, Two Ambulances came and I think they both made it. One was a Harley and the other was a guy who stopped to help and ran over the edge. Sorry no pics today. This all happened despite a road block to check for safe riding gear andinsurance and licenses. There must have been 20 LEOs on that little strip of tarmac. She usually takes a Zanax or two before each ride, today was au-natural. This pic was taken in Crossville Tennessee at the now famous Tree House.

If I ever get a chance to get up there and ride the Dragon, ya'll are gonna know about it. This flat-lander will probably have traffic backed up for miles 'cause I'll be takin' in the scenery more than draggin' pegs. I'd rather smell the flowers than push up daisies.

Exactly.....I've been reading the stories for years. That's why if I every do get up there on a bike, I won't be in any hurry. I've been up there (Cherokee and area) in a cage before, but never on a bike. I've seen a little bit of what you're talking about.

I could'nt count the times I've been on The Dragon the first time was around 1978 I was still in high school and ridin' a 350 Honda.Back then they was'nt no t-shirt shop or anyone taking a picture as you hit the curves . It was just a old country store with a drink machine a gas pump and a couple packs of crackers covered in dust....Things have changed but I still dig testing my skills on that piece of asphalt This is Big Al and I smokin' The Dragon side by side .
