These are shocking statistics. I had no idea that this was happening in Norway. The majority of rapes committed in Norway were by muslims? HMMMM wonder why we don't hear anything about that here. I wonder......

Their beliefs are not are beliefs. That is why they have a HUGE problem with women in our society. Their laws cannot and must not surpass ours. If they become citizens of our country they are required to forgoe their laws and accept ours. They can't/don't/won't accept our laws-smack their @$$ in prison then deport them. Other than that-got no problemo here. And if they do catch a rapist-let the cops tune em up a little/lot. RIDE SAFE.

I agree with old2soon, I think anyone not born in my country and they commit a crime should be jailed and then deported. I don't care if they get their citizenship. If they commit a crime, citizenship gets stripped, they do the time and out they go. I am so sick of these scumbags taking advantage of Canada and thinking it is a free ride.

Jesus warned us about them.

3 And they will do this because they have not known the Father or Me.

In my religion I have a obligation to forgive everybody.
Sometimes I stray from my religion.
Big surprise huh.
I would if coming across the opportunity, would rip the balls off one of these rapists that think they can treat woman like this.
They say woman are property.
SO how do they think,,,,,,,,, if thier mother or sister were raped.
I don't get the way they think.
But if this happened to my wife, there ain't no place I would not go to take care of the Basterd.

What about all the rapes committed by Christians? Men of the cloth even...

That is a nonsensical statement... If it isn't a "sin" under Islam, then there is no offense committed. It is a sin for a Muslim to knowingly drink alcohol, but not a sin for a Christian. That's the bizarre thing about religions... They all have quirky laws, rituals, and customs that seem strange or criminal to other religions and customs. A person who creates something that depicts Muhammad has committed the highest crime to a devoted Muslim...

When a Muslim sins they sin. Sin is relative to the religion you are practicing so that makes no sense. They just have different ideas about what constitutes a sin. And yet many crimes throughout history have been committed in the name of Christ and Yahweh. No religion is a religion of peace. The people who practice it decide whether or not it is peaceful.

You couldn't be more wrong Anvil. God's word hasn't changed at all for thousands of years. Followers or non followers of the Holy Bible can accept it or reject it. Many have done wrong things 'in the name of God". That doesn't make them correct. Murdering someone for being against the Bible is sin and is in direct opposition to the bible. Nothing in the bible instructs a believer to do that. There is only one religion on the planet today that instructs its followers to convert by force or murder the infidel.

Oh no it's the truth. RUUUUUN! But of course you have practitioners of Islam who misunderstand the teachings of Islam just as you have Christians who misunderstand the teachings of Christianity. Ironically, fiery fundamentalist clerics are just as likely to take those things out of context to incite their followers as anti-Islamic crusaders are to demonize Islam.

Deuteronomy 17:2 - 17:5 2 Chronicles 15:13 Deuteronomy 13:1 - 13:18 Don't get me wrong, I'm no lover of Islam either, nor am I necessarily I hater of Christianity, but as far as religions (Yeah, might be old testament, but it's STILL in there!) commanding it's followers to murder non-believers, Islam isn't alone... Now, you could argue that Christianity is "better" than Islam because it's adherents haven't gone on murderous rampages of non-believers recently, not arguing that, just pointing out that the words are indeed in the Bible...

Just saying, it's in there... The same could be said of the Koran (That some are just using old parts of it out of context.)... Anyone could find justification for just about any action they wanted somewhere in the Bible (Or the Koran, or any great religious work)...

Glad this sheize doesn't happen in Canada, eh? This morning's news article. http://www.ottawasun.com/2011/08/26/anti-muslim-author-threaten-beatenQuote from the book's author: Dipersico wrote "Islam is a religion of 'peace' and Muslims will kill you to prove it". From the article: ""A little autobiographical," he said the novel expresses his opposition to organized religion." That could place quite a few of us in the path of violence...

I guess your lack of understanding of the Qur'an is what caused you to post the " instructs its followers to convert by force or murder the infidel" comment. ??? Bobbo, Maybe you need to revamp your understanding of the Quran: 9:5 Is the verse that muslims themselves say instructs them to KILL anyone that refuses to convert to Islam: Chapter 9:5
“So when the forbidden months are passed, so kill the polytheists wherever you find them, and take them [as captives], and besiege them, and lay wait for them with every kind of ambush, so if they repent (convert to Islam) and perform the prayer and give the legal alms, so leave their way free. Here is a verse that muslims also use to justify terrorist acts: Chapter 33:26-27
“26 And he brought down the people of the book (Jews & Christians) who backed them from their strong places and cast terror into their hearts. A group of them you are killing, and a group of them you are taking captive. 27 And he made you to inherit their land and their homes and their money and a land which you had never set foot on. Allah was mighty over all things.” Here are some verses that define Christians as "infidels": Chapter 5:72
“’Infidels indeed are those who said, ‘Surely God is the Christ, son of Mary." Chapter 5:73
“’Infidels indeed are those who said, ‘Surely God is the third of three." Here is a verse commanding them to kill infidels: Chapter 47:4
“So when you meet those who became infidels, so strike the necks (decapitate) until you have made a great slaughter among them...” Here are some verses commanding them to wage war: Chapter 9:41
“March forth lightly or heavily, and perform holy war with your money and your lives for the sake of Allah. This is best for you, if you were knowing.” Chapter 9:73
“O you prophet, perform holy war against the infidels and the hypocrites, and be harsh with them. And their abode will be hell, and evil is the destination.” Chapter 61:4
“Surely Allah loves those who engage in war in ranks for his sake, as if they were a solid wall.” Oh and if you know any muslims that you think are your friends, consider these verses: Chapter 3:28
“Believers do not take infidels for friends, rather than the believers. Whoever does this so he has nothing to do with Allah, but that you should guard yourself from them your fear of him [Allah]. And the Allah himself warns you, and to Allah is the return.” Chapter 5:51
“O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Nasara (Christians) as friends. They are friends to one another. And whoever among you takes them as friends, so surely he is of them. Surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.” So I would suggest to you that to call someone UNEDUCATED or UNINFORMED because they believe that Islam is NOT a "Religion of Peace", makes you the one that is UNEDUCATED and UNINFORMED. What I don't understand is why you are so quick to denounce Christians as violent, usually you refer to the Crusades (which occurred about 1000 yrs ago). And yet you are quick to defend Muslims as peaceful when not a single day goes by or has gone by for decades, that somewhere on this earth, some innocent person is not murdered by one of those "peaceful" muslims. And since I know that you will continue to defend your statements even though your logic is as "Flawed as a screen door on a submarine". I'm just going to quote Forrest Gump: "That's all I have to say about that".

The Bible (old testament), Torah and Quran are all based roughly on the same "book".
I didn't see anyone trying to make the argument that Islam is THE religion of peace while Christianity is not. What I see is a few people making the argument that they're just not all that different in terms of historical record and their practitioner's capability to twist the religion. Christianity's historical record is about as spotted as Islam's. That's just a fact.

A little research will reveal that the Koran is primarily a collection of the words of Mohammed put together after his death, not at all based on the Hebrew or Christian scriptures..
People will see what they choose to see.
When someone ends an assertion with, "That's just a fact," you can usually refer back to people will see what they choose to see.

Bobbo, Maybe you need to revamp your understanding of the Quran: I see you conveniently left out the contextual parts of the Qur'an: 2:191, " You may kill those who wage war against you", 2:193, " You may also fight them to eliminate oppression", and 2:194, " During the Sacred Months, aggression may be met by an equivalent response". I don't defend any religion. To me they're pretty much all the same. Muslims, like Christians, are not peaceful, despite claims to the contrary. They each cherry pick parts of their holy books to justify any action. My logic isn't flawed, your perception is filtered through biased eyes. When I hear Christians complaining and pointing out violence by Muslims, all I can think of is this:

That's why I put the word "book" in quotation marks. A great deal of what's related in the Quran is the same stuff that's in the Old Testament and Torah. You will find many of the same stories and prophecies etc.

Boxer rebellion, the Holy Child. They all pay their rent. But none together can testify to the rhythm of a road well bent. Saddles and zip codes, passports and gates, the Jones' keep. In August the water is trickling, in April it's furious deep.

I would concede "some", but I think "a great deal" is a significant exaggeration.
It really doesn't need to be repeated as my understanding is that Islam accepts the Torah and "Scriptures" to be inspired revelations from God, but secondary to the interpretation revealed in the Koran.

I was told it is similar to the way Christians view the Old Testament. The new Testament superseded the Old Testament, and the Qur'an superseded the New Testament.

As a Christian I can tell you that supersede is the wrong term to use regarding the relationship of the Old and New Testaments. I will await the input of a schooled muslim on whether it applies to the Koran, the Torah, and the Scriptures.
I believe you do, though, as an outsider, have a fair grasp of the hierarchies.
