Morning Joe, just checked the website (http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/). It all looks good there. They did just close a small part, to rebuild some cliffs, which will require a very scenic detour when I'm up there in a month or so. Otherwise it looks good.

10-4  cooldude  Thanks for the reply ....I knew about the detour thats no big deal as just about every road off the BRP is a good road for motorcycling and they always mark them very well....Come on up next weekend and join us  Smiley

Joe,

Thanks for posting this...I have a group of riders planning to the hitting the BRP mid VA and running North to Skyline into Winchester the 17th of Sept.

I am interested to see what if any issues from this storm created.

I am also interested in Va from Norfolk area west to the BRP...

Are any of us VA riders invited to hook up with your group?

So far I haven't heard of any major damage to the main routes.

This far inland Irene didn't bother much at all, so the BRP itself is fine.

The Norfolk area may have experienced some minor wind damage and localized flooding.

I'll let you know if I hear about anything specific.

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.
