Beautiful east Tennessee ( GOD'S Country )

« on: August 29, 2011, 04:08:55 PM »

Took off this morning on a solo run for the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. The weather right now is just awesome with nothing but sunshine ( Sure hope it sticks around for the ride we have planned this coming weekend across The Blue Ridge Parkway ) . Made a stop in Maryville at this little BBQ place folks was telling me about the food was good however I've had better Q. The owner came out to the outside table and was talking to me about my Valkyrie. I told him  I had a friend in Texas that had a smoker at his house that his smoker would fit in . After telling him this it seemed to me it pissed him off sure glad I already had my food  Shocked

From start to finish across The Foothills Parkway I only saw ( 1 ) car and it was going the other way what a blast that road is when you can let the fat girl eat  cooldude

Last time my bike was at this very spot it was around 28 degree's and we came upon a young lady who was commiting suicide  Sad  Today it was in the upper 80's and no one around but me  Smiley

After smokin' The Foothills Parkway I hit US 129 and played on The Dragon the first pass was cop free the second on the way home had one about mid-way and he was just kickin' back in the shade.

Not many folks out on this beautiful monday as you can see from the picture at Deal's Gap.

" The Money Shot  " taken at The Tail Of The Dragon   I love the Tennessee / North Carolina mountains..

As always Joe, great ride report and pics. Can't seem to find my way clear to get back down to those gorgeous mountains you call home. Your ride report and pics are the next best thing.

God made some beautiful country, we are indeed, privileged and lucky to sail through it for a while.  Smiley

This last trip to Maggie Valley was about as much fun as I ever did have on a motorcycle

Between the trip to bridal falls and dry falls, toad stranglers, 28 the dragon foothills parkway 73 thru smokey national forest, the cherahola, the blue ridge parkway and the little road that don and tracy led me thru near tazewell it just dont get much better. Even the 771 miles home was a great ride

And I got to see MP give Smokinjoe a ride in his sidecar, That was one for the ages

Add to it terrific friends and meetin new friends like Whiskey, Big Al, Mike from SC, Thumper and Duffy and Thunderbolt we are pretty blessed indeed riding these awesome machines and breathing the free air of the USA

Wish I could get away again but once a year is all I can do

Have fun boys !!

Well, if the rain clears up a little more, I will be there with a group this Friday.  Anything to look out for or be especially aware of?  Thanks, Steve
