Talked to a Hoss rider up in milwaukee over the summer. said it was god awful to ride around town cause of the weight and heat, and terrible for the highway cause of fuel consumption, weight and heat. The only thing he said it was good for was showin off cause it would lite it up on command. stopped, 70mph, wherever, whenever.

I think the Boss Hoss would have done a lot better if he could have kept the rear tire hooked up. When one of the bike mags was testing a Boss Hoss they tried running the quarter with a passenger on the back and got better times since it hooked up better. I'd sure like to ride one sometime.

This video disappoints me.
I did a test ride on a Boss Hoss in Sturgis last month and I loved the acceleration. Going from 50 to 100mph was just a blink. I thought it was quicker in that test than a hopped up Suzuki 'Busa I had ridden a while back. The Hoss I rode wasn't even the big block model, it had a 385 horse, 350ci engine.
I'm not sure what is the best technique to launch a Hoss, but as much trouble as the rider was having getting hooked up, I doubt he was using it.
