Well here it is.  99 I/S.  I bought it about 3 weeks ago.  Too good of a deal to pass up and it was local so I figured if its nice, I'll buy it and then decide whether to keep it or sell it.  Well I kept it.  Bought it from the 2nd owner who kept it at his other home in SC for when he was there.  He had the bike since 2001.  It only has 18k miles on it.  Got it home and rode it 3 miles and then took it apart. Cleaned every crevice on the bike.  Took off the trunk and bags as you can tell. Already sold the bag rails.  Dont think I'll ever use the trunk, too bulky.  May sell that too down the road.
I transferred my rake kit, cant live without it, my lowered Progressives and some other stuff.  While apart, I added a headlight modulator, Osram 70/65 headlights and mounted an aftermarket antennae (thanks Chip) in the fairing.  I did the complete rear end service, put in a 4 degree trigger wheel and added custom driving lights I will post more about, changed the seat, etc.  And of course, my patented  Smiley 12 inch cut down of the Cobra exhaust.  This time I had them slash cut.  I have a Cee Baileys custom length 6 inch dark grey shield on the way.
I have to say when I first rode it, I couldnt believe how top heavy and bulky it felt for me.  Coming from my '03 that was stripped down, I guess is why.  The other is the Daryls rake kit.  Riding my '03 with the stock rake is just a massive difference to me.  The slow speed improvement with the rake kit is drastic.  I havent ridden a Valk without it in a while and it was really surprising how much it changes the feel of the bike.  If I ever got another Valk, the rake kit would get done immediately.  Now that I have the I/S lowered and raked for me, it handles great and is super easy to maneuver.  Probably more changes to come but for now Im going to just ride it some.

Forgot to put in the before and after pics and the shot of the standard and the I/S before transformation.

So you added an IS fairing and pods to your old bike?

Wow, thanks Hoser.  Handlebars were the same set on my '03.  They are Jardines and I had them powdercoated.  Ive got another set if anyone is looking in chrome.  I think the windshield is by Slipstreamer, not positive.  Going by memory of when I had it apart.  I'll be swapping that one out when my new one comes and I can check then.  I think Im going to cut that one down some and then use it for winter riding.

Looking good  cooldude

The exhaust being slashcut looks excellent, the laydown plate complements the solo rack and cruiser bar.

All in all, she looks very clean and tastefully done! Grin

A job well done, now you have a low mileage super individualized Valk! Ride it with pride.

Is the short rear fender just a cutoff stock rear fender? Do you have a better picture of it that you could post? Thanks.

Them forks sure are pretty and shiney.  Did you polish them?  I heard tale that you used to be able to buy chromed ones including the triple clamp.  Mine are clean, but sure not like that.  May have to add to my winter project list.

Nice looking ride!

Yes I polished them, its a lot of work, a good winter project.  Below is the link I posted after I did them.  I posted the steps I used per Daryl at XF6 where I got my rake kit.  I followed them exactly and they came great.
