Might come in early, Friday night and ride Sat. in the area. I love the idea of having two days to ride.
Santa
If you want to come into the Knoxville,TN area on friday we will be leaving out on saturday morning crossing The Great Smoky Mountains and taking The Blue Ridge Parkway all the way to Blowing Rock,NC then on in to Lenior.<<<<<Beautiful ride  cooldude

When you pick where and when you will be leaving the Knoxville area, please post it.  I am thinking of stopping in Chattanooga but might stop in Knoxville Friday nite and join up with this ride.

RainMaker
Unless you have business in Chattanooga you are adding close to 200 miles to your ride out of Texas going that way.You could be in Knoxville in around 850 miles if you go through Choo Choo to get here it will be 1000 plus miles.

Just setting up for a ride on the Skyway and 129 with the stop in "choo-choo".

But since it will be Saturday and they will be packed, may just skip it. Been there, done that.

So, I'm coming to Knoxville. Thanks, SJ!

Thanks Joe. I was just trying to cut cost so I can make more rides, also looking for a roomate for the hillbilly run. I plan on making the following rides this year.
1. Daytona bike week
2. Britmans ride
3. Hillbilly ride
4. Inzane
5. Sept Indiana ride
6. Fall color ride
I would sure like to make Sturgis this year but the Santa money is going fast.
Anything coming up in August (rides)

sustantivo
DAMNIFIKNOW...I will give it a bump  cooldude

Is there a meetup point Friday nite or Saturday morning in Knoxville?  Approx time?  Need to make a reservation for Friday nite and would appreciate a heads up on where to stay, as I don't know the city at all.

I'm thinking hard on trying to make this one. Is there Room for one or two more?

I've got family in Peachland, not far from Monroe that I'd love to see after heading home. It would be nice to kill two birds --

You have time to " make it happen " . As stated above the ride I have planned ( saturday ) getting to Lenior is one of the most beautiful scenic rides the south has to offer. Britman has been doing this Memorial Day Weekend ride ( sunday ) for several years and always has some awesome roads to ride .

Heading out Thursday, stopping in Hot Springs, Arkansas overnite at my father-in-laws then hitting the road early Friday.  Reservations made at the Travelodge.  See some of you then.

Gotta' change out the front tire this weekend - I think I have enough rubber on front for the trip but that's usually when you don't. coolsmiley

Git'er done... I left BMDR a day early once when I went up there with marginal tires... it started sprinkling
and I started slipping and quit having fun...

A tire that looks like it has 1000 miles left on it is great for commuting to work for a few weeks, and
worthless for a weekend ride where you're going to rack up 500 or 700 miles...

We need to own stock in Avon with everyone having to get new tires before we head to Lenoir.  After several of us take a planned ride Sunday up to the Cherohala Skyway this weekend I'm going to need both front and rear next week.  Hope to get them scuffed up before leaving Sat.

Sam,

Do your homework....I think Avon may be running a rebate program right now.

To Joe, and all the other fine ladies & gentlemen on the board,

Well it looks like I'm officially out for this one. Saw the Back Dr. this mornin and he refused to give his ok, or another injection for this trip. It seems that you can only have a maximum of three shots a year. My only option now is to have surgery to repair my disks damaged by years of abuse.

Ya all have a tremendous time- wishin I could be there with ya's- take lots of pretty pictures-

I'm looking for how to get there... I guess it would be miserable to go there (or travel home
from there) via BRP on such a holiday?

I see a way I can go past Landrum, and Lake Lure, and Bill's Creek Road, Marion and then
go kind of like the ride does north of lake James...
