I'm thinking the effect on viewership will be minimal. It might even increase-similar to the "attempted" Chick-Fil-A boycott that actually increased sales.

I wonder if the DVD's of the 3 seasons are made by A&E? Or, if they get profit from it? I would like to buy them, but not if A&E profits... It ain't over. Hay Jimmyt

As someone posted in the Duck Dynasty thread, it appears the family will stick together. Good on them! If they leave A&E, I would think another network would be happy to pick them up...heck, even Conan found a taker a couple years back.

They will stick together, but I'll bet it costs A&E more $$$$ per episode.
Especially if they let Si do the negotiating. LOL. Actually, I don't think he could get it done.

Whether the show continues or not A&E has shot them selves in the foot. They have revealed their true colors. As a result they will have lost a large portion of their viewing audience they had carefully courted by bringing on the Duck Dynasty. They will certainly retain the viewing audience made up of homosexuals and homosexual sympathizers. They already had those. They apparently weren't enough.
The show on A&E is done, slow death or quick. Some other network will pick it up and wipe A&E's nose in it.

Me, I can't wait dr them to switch. They will stay together, where ever they go. Maybe they just go back to making duck calls and being millionaires. That would be fine with me. All of us has sinned. Many of us make valiant attempts to keep from it nowadays. RJ. That's all I gotta say about that. Hay Jimmyt

Vell, last night we got ice. And the slick kind also.
This is the 1st time this Truck has set out at night except when we were traveling and it was in a Motel Parking Lot.
My Posi and 4 wheel drive wouldn't pull it up the little hill to the garage. Get up so far and if ya put the brakes on, it slide back into the street like it was on rail.
Then it got parked in my other driveway that is a little more on the level side.
Remote started it with the defroster on; the temp key was FULL HOT, and the blower on top speed. About 10 minutes later it was just wet on the windshield, so went out did some salt for the driveway, mom had spread some cat litter when she went out to get the paper. With that on the drive I was able to crawl up into the garage. Got 2 50# bags of de-icer compound and a hand spreader. Tried it, but too slick on the drive for this old man and if I fell, Red, would bust my head open. She had already warned me when I took her to work. So, if I can get back in the garage when I got to get her after work, she will spread some of the de-icer with a fertilizer spreader. The one with the round wheel under the box that turns a rather fast rotation and ya get like an 8 ft spread. That way she should be able to go down the middle and get the whole drive covered in one swoop. Then Saturday evening we are to get snow into Sunday. They started out 3 to 4", then they went to 5 to 8", and now they are saying a dusting to 1".
Told the wife to tell her sister we would not be down for the Christmas dinner and opening of presents if it is over 2" of snow. Going to Missouri so it will have a bunch of ice under it.
I'll go to the Pearly Gates in a bike accident, but not in a damn cage accident.

If he died in Captivity she is damn lucky to get his remains back period. Buddy of mine was captured and escaped after a couple of years. I was stationed with him in San Francisco. In fact he passed November 30, 2013. He said when someone died, they were just basically thrown in a deep hole or burned. At the time it was scary as hell for me to hear.

Glad you're here with us RJ. Here is what the LA Times says about her husband. "In the Korean War, he was assigned as a field medic, Battery C, 503rd Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, when he was taken prisoner by North Korean forces in December 1950. He died in March 1951, it was learned later, but his remains were only recently returned to the U.S. and identified, said Bob Kurkjian, executive director of USO Greater Los Angeles Area." Happy New Year boys! I'm not first or last. Hay Jimmyt Based on the title of the thread, it means nothing to get the first word in anyway. I know Willow will poke his head in here shortly. So....Carl, I was just checking to see where Olathe, Kansas was located since we didn't cover that mecca in Geography. It seems you aren't too far from St Joseph, Missouri. St Joe is known for three things. It's home of the Pony Express. Jesse James was killed there. And my wife was born there. Well, ok...it's known for two things.

We're actually over the state line and diagonally across Kansas City, Missouri. I'm sure your wife is well above the class of Jesse James and many other residents of St. Joseph. It's good to see that someone knows how to spell too.

Wiggy old buddy. Did you miss Kansas City, MO and KC, KS. Olathe is a tad South of those 2 and St Jo is a tad North of them. Olathe is about 26 miles SW of Kansas City, KS, the St Joe is about 52 miles North of KC, KS. Carl, isn't that about right. Been awhile since I been in that part of the country, so I rememberer might be off a few miles. Peace Wiggy.

It's good to see that someone knows how to spell too. Yes, I knew you were in Kansas. When my wife and I would visit her Aunt and Uncle in St Joe, Uncle Marvin and I would often drive the 50 miles or so and go to a Royals game. So, I did know about KC, RJ. I've been to what was Kaufman Stadium back then a few times. Actually, Carl, my Mother in Law's maiden name was James. My Brother in Law claims they are offspring ofJesse. I say Poppycock. Someday I have to get Jesse's Geneology and disprove his "claim". He even named his only son Jesse. I wouldn't really be proud to be name after an outlaw and murderer but to each his own. And not only can I spell Olathe, but I remember you told me how to correctly pronounce it during our IZ chat this past summer.

Thanks, RJ...from our travels there, I was aware that Kansas City was usually the one in Missouri and also knew about the Kansas City, Kansas part. I wasn't sure if it was the same city split between two states, or what. I guess the best answer that I looked up is that Kansas City, Kansas(referred to as KCK) is a suburb of KCM. Is that close to being accurate?

You'd have to ask Carl that. My wife is from Missouri, but she is from the other side, over where the Arch is.
She had a bunch of relatives in KCK. Well close by I should say, what I call suburbs of KCK & KCM.

They're two distinct cities, Kansas City, Missouri being the much larger of the two. All the towns tend to run together these days. It would be fair to call Olathe a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. There was a long standing dispute over whether the city stole the name of the state or the state stole the name of the city. I was actually impressed by the two o's in too. Your wife and I may share relatives by marriage. My wife's half sisters and brother carry the last name of James. They likely are related to Jesse and Frank. They grew up in Independence, the city not the state of mind. Clyde was my sister in law's grandfather. I'm actually about seventy miles from St. Joe. I need to refresh my mapping visuals. We're actually straight south.
