I have searched the tech forum, with no results. I am looking for information concerning the possibility of removing the OEM radio/CB and replacing it with  an aftermarket radio. If anyone has done this, or have knowledge/information would you please let me know? I have no desire to keep a CB, or the 'birdnest' controller. Only want to have a radio, SAT Radio would be a bonus, with bluetooth input for digital.
Thanks for any info.

Heck, that ought to be easy.

There are a lot of manufacturers of just the kind of things you would need to do what you want.

Small handlebar controls, keep the speakers in the fairing or mount some speakers on the bars too.

I've seen small units that also have Serius and some powerful units also.

Just have to start looking in catalogs and also on line, Google some things also.

You'll find plenty of things to look at.

Get an xm radio and plug it into the aux outlet on your radio, it can be controlled with your present set up, just use the aux button on your controller.  you can mount the xm antenna about anywhere, some are on the bag rail, if you have them. I used an mp3 when I had an interstate and controlled it the same way.  cooldude  Hoser

This item was post a while ago, I'm going to go out soon and buy it.

Clarion marine radio.

I'm going to mount speakers in the rear pods of the IS trunk, I'm hoping I can mount the unit under the trunk like the CB is, and then the controlls on the handle bars.

I think the lowest price I found was about $197 delivered. Then you need the Polk DB501.

Here's a post for the rear speaker replacement. I see that the pictures are gone.

I can't really help with this, other than say look around. There are lots of solutions out there.

That said; if you DO go that way, bare in mind that the radio, CB and handlebar pod as a set will get you up to $1000.00 or more in classifieds or on Ebay, so you can go nuts with replacing that system, and still come out ahead dollar wise (I for one, would love to have the CB! I'll start my bidding at $400!).
