On Sat. May the 12 the wife and I are going to Smithfield Ky To Our Best Restraint for a Mothers Day Lunch. Any and all is invited to come along for the ride or meet us at the restraint for lunch. And then a short back road trip through the country back to Madison.
The time frame is:  we will be meeting Gavin Sons and his wife at the BP station in Columbus Ind. at hwy 7 and 31 at 10:00am and then we will be stopping at North Vernon to meet Stan Cool and his wife and Hal47 at 10:30am.  The hook up point at North Vernon is still a question of where we are going to meet. (witch this post for the stopping point).  And from there on down to Smithfield unless there are some of you that want to meet the group at Madison. We should arrive at the restraint somewhere around 12 noon give or take. As of now there are 9 of us going.
Rain or shine we (the wife and I) are going unless it is thunder buster or coming down in buckets Just put the rain shuts on and enjoy the ride
If you are planning on going Please let me know so that I can call the restraint and let them know about how many are coming so they can get set up for us

I'll be coming up from the south, will meet you in Smithfield.  Looks like I'll be bringing at least three other Valks with me.   Looking forward to this.   cooldude

Well, I tried.   Sad  I know of three other Valk riders who are planning on attending from the Frankfort area.  We'll miss you but, sometimes you just gotta do other stuff.

Spoke to one of my local Valk friends tonight, he'd like to go and will try but, he thinks the wife wants to go boating.  Sad  It is what, it is.
Said he was gonna try.

(And from there on down to Smithfield unless there are some of you that want to meet the group at Madison.)

I don't know if Stan mentioned or not that Julie and would be going.  With the bridge repairs going on it will be easier if we meet you at the Dairy Queen in Milton.  Got a good estimate when yall will be crossing the bridge?  Let me know if ya can.
Thanks, Gene.

No, bridge is two lanes yet.

The ramps getting on and off are rather steep with 90 degree turns at the top, kinda touchy feeling getting on from Indiana side because when ya get up high those temporary concrete walls are not that high and ya just look over them.

Any idea about a time frame when you'll be down?

Hi all.
ASSuming we leave my place in N. Vernon promptly at 10:30, we'll cross the mighty Ohio at 11:07 am. Wait! If Rainman is leading, better make that 10:42 am. (Just kidding.) Gene! Glad you're coming. See you at the Milton D.Q. at 11:07.

I sold my beloved Honda VTX so I could get a TOURING bike to allow my wife to be more comfortable on long trips. Can't afford; nor do I subscribe to the Harley "hype". Wanted to stay with Honda quality. And as I'm still young enough to want a "COOL" looking tourer; the Valk Interstate is for me.

A heads up:

Just in case yall don't know, to get to the entrance ramp for the bridge, you have to stay on 56 like you are going to Vevay.  There is now a stop sign at Ferry St., turn there.

Been watching the weather closely for this coming Saturday, according to several forecasters, it should be a beautiful day to catch some wind.  Supposed to be in the mid seventies (depending on which forecaster you listen to).  Should be sunshine with a few clouds to make it interesting.  Looking forward to meeting new folks and seeing old friends again.  See ya Saturday in Smithfield.

I'm told there is only one restaurant in Smithfield so, I'm think'n I can find it.  I'll just look for all the Valkyries.   cooldude

Sorry, I haven't checked the thread lately. I'm from New Palestine (10 miles east of Indpls). Used to be known as "Quigley" here before they changed everything. I plan on attending so long as work doesn't get in the way.

I'll  bump this becouse it sounds fun. Can't go becouse I am still crippled up but have fun.
Also Gavin that is a sweet ride you have. The fact that it is the last color that I would have picked out show my total lack of any artistic skills. It works and you should be very proud of it. I think I read it was you dad's?  Very special !
Have a great ride and be careful.
