What are they selling for?
I can't find one anywhere. On Ebay, nor in the classifieds.
If a guy had one... what would he get for it?

When Rivco produced a run of them some time back they sold for $450 if my memory serves me correctly.

Your "rememberer" is working correctly.
$450 is a pretty steep price for any centerstand for any bike.

I happen to have one in my storage facility. My brother purchased it years ago and never installed it. Brand new Rivco Centerstand and grab bar. I thought about intalling it at one point, but never got around to it. I put a permanent lift adapter under the Valk... so not even sure I could add the centerstand to that set-up. The only thing I could not find in his house was the spring. I'm pretty sure I can find or figure out the size and tension to get a replacement spring. I'll have to go to storage on my day off and touch it. I might consider selling it once I get it in my hands again this weekend coming.

I decided that $450 was too expensive six years ago so I made my own based on the Rivco design. It cost me about $40 for everything. I put it on the bike and soon decided that it was not worth the effort. It got lost during my last move or else I would put it up for sale.

I was searching for something else in the archives yesterday and ran across a post that stated something to the effect that, "a Rivco center stand is one of the two most deadly things one can put on a Valk." I have no idea why that was said, nor do I remember who said it or what the second deadly thing was. Maybe I'll go search it out again and see if I can make any further sense of it. ~~~~~~~~EDITED~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Found it. It was in this thread: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,9168.0.html

I put up a "wanted to buy" post in the classified section of this website and found one for $150. Someone else offered me one a couple of weeks later for $100.
I'm not sure about them being dangerious, my Kury hwy pegs scrape long before my centerstand does.

Please don't get me wrong. I know nothing about them and can't support or deny the dangerous part. It was just something that stuck in my memory banks and came roaring back out when I saw Jabba's post.

I know Smokin' Joe's opinion of them. I can't confirm nor deny his opinion. I have leaned this one pretty hard and no scraping yet. It has floorboards on it... and they seem to be REALLY high to me. I don't like 'em. But a short guy probably would.

HDL had the Rivco center stand in stock and available last week. This week they seem to be out of stock. I had one on my 2000 Interstate and loved having it as it makes cleaning, storage and working on the bike much easier. I don't have one on my current Interstate but wouldn't mind one if money weren't in tight supply around here lately.
All the best,
Mark

I'm curious. exactly how that mounts to the Valk? I'm assuming it uses the same studs as the kick stand, is that correct?

It uses the outside bolt on the kickstand mount. A few years ago the right hand clamp was machined to fit the cross tube, by this picture it is obvious they have forgone that custom fitting for a cheaper flat clamping surface. This will cause the cross tube to be crushed and the center stand to flex every time until the cross member breaks away from the frame.

I bought the last one that Mike (Valk Bling and Things) had I believe ... By the time I had paid shipping to the UK, duty and someone to rescue me for the install, it cost me $600. Very expensive, but worth it IMHO. Points: 1. Looks good - nice chrome job, robust and quality made. 2. Install can be tricky if kickstand bolt rusted solid like mine was 3. Easy to use - hardly any effort at all required. 4. Does touch ground when cornering very hard to the left but not in the 'dang that's dangerous' category. Minimal issue. 5. Makes maintenance much easier (rear wheel right off the ground) , also filling the fuel tank Overall I'd recommend it, although the price made my wallet hide for a week afterwards. I found it sobbing quietly in a jacket in my wardrobe. Poor thing hadn't had such a shock since She Who Must Be Obeyed last went clothes shopping.....

Thanks for that information, I thought that might be the case. Probably rules one out for me, I just put a belly tank on and it uses both of the kick stand mounting bolts. Oh well, it is, what it is. Thanks again for the info.

Amongst the reasons I have not purchased one is the fact that my bike is 2" lower than stock in the rear. I am too short for OEM height! I think that those 2-inches would make it almost impossible to get the fat lady up on the center stand. I also have the Pro Lift jack adapter. I am not sure whether the adapter would have to go in order to make room for the stand... One on eBay 'bout 5-6 weeks ago went for $140. Someone else was advertizing one for as I recall, $250 (?). I do not know what the final sale price was. If I could overcome the limitations listed, I would consider buying one.

Since you've already lowered your Valk Paxton, you might wanna reconsider buying/installing a center stand on your Valk. It's already low and the center stand does have piece that sticks out on the left side that will make your Valk grab the road really well I'd think.....but not in a good way.

Jabba,
Does your have the contoured or the flat mount that goes around the cross member? Also, does it have one or both the grab rails. There was a used one in the classifieds last week with slight rust. The seller was asking $250. I sent an email but never got a response so I guess it sold before the seller got my email. Having both grab rails and the contiured cross member clamp are big pluses IMHO.
All the best,
Mark

I think Jabba just wants to know price so he can sell the one that is on the new-to-him Valk. Stripping it down to stock to sell for a profit and sell all the add-on bling for extra... That's my take from what's been said. He's not in the market to buy one.

I have one and I am SELLING. I have both grab rails. The stand itself ain't very chromy (is that even a word?) anymore. I probably could have made more but I am selling it to the guy I bought the bike from for $200. I'd rather have a friend than a profit. I am selling him the driver floorboards too. Both for his new to him interstate. He's supposed to come over tomorrow to do the swapping. He's on his way back to Indy from Cleveland now in the terrible heat on his new scoot. I have been stripping stuff off it though. What will I have to move... (Edit - I don't wish to be unreasonably strict, but in the interest of not encouraging a trend, I've removed the list.
Perhaps the list would make a good entry for the Classifieds section.) we'll see what else falls off her. Jabba

I have one, and both grab rails... and it gets used every time i wash or clean the bike. I have a couple guys here local that wish they had one on their valk. Makes cleaning and oil changes so much easier.
That and when i do store it, I put it up on the centerstand and put the cover on it. I cant believe honda did not put them on there from the start!
