I convert my 01 intersate over to the dark side last summer. I installed a General Alrimax and then changed the front to a Avon Cobra. I have been very please with it except I have an issue now when I reach 110 mph I start to become unstable, I develope a slow wobble. Before I went darkside I'd been up to 120 - 125 with no wobble. Anybody else run into this issue?? I'm running between 30 and 35 psi. Any comments ??

Might check shock bushings.
Could check the steering head bearings.
Maybe adjust the PSI on either front or rear or both.
I run 41 in my Altimax rear and 41 in my Metzler in the front on my Interstate.
My IS is a little like that too though... it's a little drifty at triple digit speeds. My Standard isn't though. I always figured it was the fairing.

I've had that wobble happen on two occasions, and the fix was new shock bushings. The stock rubber ones seem to last a very short time, I'll soon be looking for the urethane type.
Got up to triple digits last night, new bushings, not even a bit of wobble.

General Altimax and first a Metz 880 now a Shinko 890. Slow speed wobble and my high speed wobble always came back to the shock bushings, It can be very disconcerting at the triple digit range. Look at the upper shock bolt and if it ain't centered you found yer problem. RIDE SAFE.

THe Motorcycle quiet possibly could need a motorcycle specific tire.
Engineering was expensive for your bike from the factory side.
Maybe you should take them at thier word that you should not have a car tire on your motorcycle.
But that.s just me.

IF it is the tires, it will be the front cobra, not the car tire causing the wobble.

i run 40 lbs in my darkside, different brand tires run better at different lbs, have an Avon fron and have been 130mph like on a rail! Even though i'm a slow rider usually! have it rebalenced the front that is and check to see it wasn't installed "Back waards" like they did my buddies stratoliner although some guys run rear tires backwards on the front?! and love it

SO why would installing it back wards make a difference, if your buddy likes his backwards? And Swares by it.

The last change was the front tire.
I hope that front tire you installed was in fact a Radial.
If not there is your problem.

Your wobble wil dissappear if you could wrangle a CT in front and run an Avon in the reverse direction in the rear. But ultimately your low speed handing would be sevrely comprimised.

Very wise words. I gave a C/T a 4000 mile chance. Handling was severely compromised. Never again! Motorcycles were not made to use a C/T.

Shock Bushings, or double check to make sure both shock are on the same setting.

Try going a little faster. I had an old Toyota that had a bad shimmy at 75 but when you got to 80 it plained out smoothly. Try 130 or something......

I'm with Alph, if it wobbles- give it more throttle.

Both of the Valkyries I owned had excellent handling.
Great stopping power.
Smooth at 100mph on any surface.
Yes I ran a E-3, a Avon Venom-R and a Avon Cobra. Even ran a Bridgestone that was smoother than silk. Metzler that slid all over the place on dry roads.
But I rode two bikes with car tires and what the hell are you thinking .
They ride like SHxxxxxxxx and that is putting it mildly.
