Will EBC organic or any rear brake pads fit on the front on a 99 standard?  I ask because I have gold wing roters on front and they are thinner than stock, and the EBC organic front are thin on friction materal. Stops good but the front pistons stick out a lot. If rear pads are thicker and will mount I will try them.

If you can get them installed (they fit) and the rotors will slip between the pads, there should be no problem.  Very simple!

oem rear pads are 10.3mm thk and from what I have found are the same material composition. other companies might use different materails front to rear.

Vesrah makes most OEM pads. The stock valkyrie pads are HH pads as are the Vesrah replacements.
vesrah shows them the same size backing plate, just thicknesses are different. Ferodo shows the same also. 8.2 mm is stock thk front,  9.6 mm is the max that will fit from what I have been told, in fact this thk is all that ferodo imports into USA. rear is 10.3 mm, don't know if they will squeeze in or not. I just ordered the vesrah 9.6mm for my bike from denniskirk, haven't instl them yet. they are HH pads and highly rated.  (I have installed the vesrah since this post with no problems)

I ordered rear EBC pads from an online retailer for mine that are organic. I also ordered one set of front pads that were organic, forgetting there were two discs on front!  uglystupid2

Anyway, after visiting the EBC site, I found they recommend their organic pads in the back and the metallic sintered in the front or metallic at both ends... They say some folks like teh feel of the organic linings and the metallic sintered last longer.

Oh well. Try teh metallics all the way next time.

Sti;ll need another set of fronts ordered though so I can change them all out.
