Since the only carb work I've done is on a lawn mower, I'm not exactly prepared to work on the Valkyrie carbs.  I've read the documents on how to do the rebuild, viewed the pictures, and have a Clymer's manual. I have the parts. The carb assembly is on the bench. Now I'm hesitating 'cause this is a lot more than a lawn mower. Call me 'chicken' if you want (until you know me better).

I'm watching the D-Ray youtube videos. That might be enough to get me out of the  chicken house.

I'm not too proud to ask for help when there's so much available. If anybody in the Chicago area has the time to assist me with the first one, I'd really appreciate it. E-mail to valkyr2001@comcast.net

I'm going to try to make the breakfast in Geneva on Nov 3 - hope to see you there.

Thanks,
Joe V.

you CAN do it....just take your time and lay everything out in a logical manner.

It's a lot easier than rebuilding a car carburetor...you're just putting in new o-rings and jets.

I learned the hard way.
Just do one carb at a time and dont intermix parts from one carb to the other.
What Im referring to is the floats and float vaves if they are to be reused, jets can be intermixed.
Its not all that hard a job to do as long as you have no intention of changing the o-rings in the fuel rails.
I messed up my 1st set taking the rails off.
I didnt take pictures and had no reference to reassemble all the linkages etc.
Take pictures, take your time and you will be fine.

It looks worse than it actually is. Its intimidating because there are 6 of them. As Jay says, take LOTS AND LOTS of pics especially the linkage and springs from ALL angles. Have a separate container for each carb and number them 1-6. Pay attention to rubber parts like the diaphrams so you dont damage them...=$$

I was nervous as hell when I did mine but now I am on a second set. I dont know why I was so nervous...for the mechanically inclined, its a piece of cake.
