So, it has been raised that the third weekend in June is Father's Day weekend Smiley and maybe we should move our get together up a week to the second week. ??? Personally, Father's Day weekend is a perfect time for a ride/get together in my books, cooldude but I would like to keep my loyal minnions/subjects/citizens 2funny happy, or at least make them think I care!! Evil So what do you think, not about me coolsmiley, about moving the weekend for June, Jeez! angel

I posted a flyer for another ride on the 15th.  You are all welcome to come up and ride with me on that ride. It is always a great time, and we almost always find a fantastic stop along the way for lunch.   I know most of those harley guys have not even seen a valk besides mine before, they always give mine a good looking over.

I think the June get together should be a date that many of us can get together.  I would like to talk about Willow and work out some ideas for raising money for Willow.  I am in the works of getting some things lined out and to get this truck on the road.  If there is a date that can work for most I would be in favor for that.

I posted on the fb page but I don't want to let the "cat out of the hat" just yet on VRCC board so if you are not on fb page please pm me and I will copy and forward the message to you. Once things are figured out we can make the presentation to the VRCC group.

I believe it is important to get everyone's opinion and listen to ideas and move on this.

Thanks in advance.

I would like to be part of that meeting, not that i have not wanted to be part of the rest of them as well, time and $ seem to get in the way alot.

I would personally really like to be able to make that poker run i posted for the 15th.  Other than that, i think my weekends are pretty well open.

There is a great Amish restaurant in Yoder called Carriage Crossing.  It is west of Wichita on 96 hiway and south of Hutchinson. They have a great seating capacity.  Best chicken fried steak I have ever had and many home made pies to kill for.   Cool

Well, when is the third Saturday of the month, in this case the 15th of June. Wink We try to stick to this so everyone knows the third Saturday all year we try to have a get together to assist everyone with planning and calendar filling. Evil Makes planning and scheduling a lot easier for everyone we aren't wondering when anyway! cooldude  Course if everyone would like to change that then maybe we need to do another vote on it.  ???

Swede the Carriage Crossing is an excellent location and good food Smiley, we have done the Dutch Kitchen in Pleasant View before as it was a bit quieter for conversation. But both are excellent I agree! And do we have a place for you for Chicken Fired!  Evil

Dalen great job a new location to me anyway and looks interesting. cooldude I did not see any hours of business anywhere. I saw them talking about nightly specials, but nothing as to whether they are open for lunch. We need to check this.

This being said I am looking for a location towards the Olathe area. coolsmiley My thought was we could meet up for lunch then maybe ride over and tell some lies with Willow. 2funny I have been kind of waiting to set something up to see where he will be at, hopefully home. angel I would kind of like to get some feed back on this from everyone , are you interested in this or would you rather not. Undecided Being as we are talking the far ne corner of the state it would be a pretty good ride for us "centrally located" folks. tickedoff I would not plan on being at Carl's location for a long period of time, so we can all get home by dark and we don't want to wear Carl out either. Roll Eyes If we found a location within about an hour of Carl's location we could meet about 11-11:30, eat then about 1-1:30 ride over see Carl, then start heading home by 4:30-5. So that's what I am thinking, chime in and be heard! coolsmiley

Thanks,

It is a good place, and is open saturday lunch time.  That is the only time I have eaten there is for lunch on Saturday.

I am talking with Shay about skipping our ride to go on this lunch ride, so pick a good spot you people from the city.

Hillsdale Bank BBQ is not to far from me if you want me to check out the seating. I know it is a small place but if I remember right they have picnic tables out side. If they don't have the seating capacity, there is a good bbq place in Spring Hill. Just up the road. K & M BBQ. They have plenty of seating. Let me know if you want me to check it out.

Dave that would be great not sure how many will be coming but lets estimate 20 to start with. The Hillsdale also has a garden sitting area we could eat in shifts if needed. See if we need a reservation.

Thanks Dave,

Stopped by Hillsdale Bank BBQ on the way home today from visiting Carl. I talked to the owner and there will not be a problem with them accommadating us. She showed us around and the dining area is bigger than what I remember and there is also a big area out back with picnic tables that we can use if so desired. She would like to know what time and approximate count.

Thanks Dave for checking that out for me! angel Yes Dalen, this is the location and the plan! cooldude

Saturday June 15th
Hillsdale Bank Bar B.Q. 201 Frisco Street Hillsdale, Kansas 66036

Let's try and get there about 11:30 Smiley, that's 10:30 Topeka time! 2funny We'll enjoy some good food and fellowship and then ride over and see Carl and Lori for a bit! If I could get a head count on who's going I will call in a reservation on the 13th!

I will be laying off for this one so no matter what Cyndi and I will be there. I am thinking we will leave the Newton area about 8:30 to head that way. If people want to join up we can get a idea of who's going and set up a route and meet up locations. Wink

awful long ride for Pam and I but we will plan on being there. I will be real surprised if Carl is still in the hospital then. John you might request to Hillsdale Bank BBQ when you call that we want to sit out back in the garden. It was really pretty neat.   cooldude

This really got my attention.   So much so that, I actually asked for and received approval to take off work so I could make this meeting.   Was making arrangements to accomplish several things but, the main one was to meet up with this group and visit with Willow.   But, some times the planets simply refuse to align and I can't make it.    It just isn't in the cards.   Regardless, have a great day and please let Willow know I tried.

thats it, im coming to take it home, if you cant run enough gas through it fast enough to keep it from turning bad in the carbs, i will!    2funny 2funny 2funny 2funny 2funny 2funny 2funny 2funny 2funny

vinegar will take that out, just old white vinegar... but it will also take paint and everything else, so be careful, and water neutralizes it.

dip your carb pieces in it for say 2 min, in then rinse off as soon as they come out, and it works better than that carb dip stuff, do it on your tank and it will clean it like new. just pour some in, cap it tight, shake it and swirl it around, then fill the tank with water, dump, fill, dump, repeat till you have run enough water through to get all that vinegar cleaned out.

To dry out a tank, i use a small shop vac and i make a soft extender out of a paper towel cob. Tape it on and turn it into a long skinny point and use some packing tape, makes the pull strong right at the tip, sucks up good in the cracks and small places you cant reach, when you think you have it good enough, set it on the bench with that hose going in a far corner, and leave the vac on for a few more min.  Then i always do like a cup of 2 stroke gas with the oil in it.  Just to coat that surface and keep flash rust from happening.

it will smoke for the first 50 miles, but it will also coat them carbs and i like that.

I dont put staybil in my mowers anymore, just some 2 stroke gas mix, and they fire right up with no carb problems in the spring... I dont know why it works, but for me it works.
