Joe, again you are A+ in taking care of all of us who call you friend and have come in contact with you.  Thank you for being there and helping to care for Lori.  May you and Teryl be blessed additionally for all you do for all of us.

Proud to call you a friend.

Everybody, we are getting older.  Summer is upon us.  Watch your meds.  Keep hydrated.  Be careful of your own physical conditions and limitations.

Prayers offered when I first heard of this for Carl and Lori and family.  Trust you heal quickly and thoroughly.  God is not finished with you yet.

Another update... Displaced C-1 fracture (the very top vertebrae in the neck)... a very bad place to have a fracture. I guess he's not getting out of the collar as he had hoped.  Right now he is having another brain CT to check on the status of the subdural bleed.

Yup....been there, done that. C1 fracture is nothing to screw around with. That neck collar is there for at least a month or more. It will heal but take time. God Speed Willow.

stude31, it's good to know that you are looking after a member of "our family".  It sounds like you are well connected and in the loop.  Thanks a lot.

Thanks so much, Joe, for keeping us updated. You're a good man!

I finally made it back from Stormont Vail, Carl is doing amazingly well all things considered. I don't have any thing to update on his condition that hasn't already been addressed but prayer and support for Carl & Lori are in order. Motomamma is holing up surprisingly well, but this is a difficult situation and they both can use all the support we can give them. Thankfully there is a good support group in this area and  Joe & Teryl are close by.

Don't know how we'd all get along without Willow's guiding hand 'round here.  As far as I'm concerned, Willow is the VRCC.

Speedy recovery Willow....come back strong.   cooldude

And for the rest of us, please don't ignore those low blood sugar signs.  Pull over and grab a candy bar.  For those of us that are type II (and I'm sure there's a bunch of us that are), we might wanna keep a power bar in the saddle bag for just such an occasion.  Been there done that.

MOTORCYCLE DRIVER AIRLIFTED AFTER WRECK NEAR EMPORIA

By Chuck Samples/KVOE News

Emporia firefighters have had an active Saturday so far.

Firefighters are currently on the scene of an injury accident involving a
motorcycle on the Kansas Turnpike. Firefighters were called to milepost
122, or five miles southwest of Emporia, shortly after 11:10 a.m., only to

The motorcycle was southbound when the accident happened. The driver was
airlifted to Stormont-Vail in Topeka. The Kansas Turnpike Authority has not

Wow.  Just checked in, busy all day.  So sorry to hear this.  Can happen so easy.  I used to have fainting spells - but it was due to my meds for A-fib needing tuning, not low sugar - which I also have to watch out for.  Gotta keep those meds properly dosed!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Carl.  I wish I was close enough to visit.  Anything I can do from afar, be sure to let me know...

Cheers - Mark
