I wrote last week how after a few miles my bike starts to run like its runnig out of gas and finally won't run at all.
So heres how it works, the bike starts just fine after it has set for a while, It starts rite up, and after a little warm up I take it off choke and I'am on my way, every thing is just fine for about the first mile or so and then it starts to run rough ( like its starting to run out of gas ) and as i go along it finally won't stay runing at all. If i let it sit for 1/2 hour it will start rite up and run fine for the first mile or so and then the same thing will happen again. Its like i run the carb bowls out of gas and i'm screwed. In the past I have shut the gas off while riding down the road a few times just to see how far i can get and i usally get a mile or so before it starts to sputter and when i turn the gas back on it starts running again in a few seconds or so. like i said it ran fine 2 weekes ago for a 480 mile saturday trip an then sat for 3 weeks and now runs like crap !!! I'am just glad and lucky this didn't happen then. the dealer can't even look at it till june 10th.and told me its $530.00 just in labor to clean 6 carbs. What the heck is going on At hyway speed the problem starts quicker than at low speeds. I tryed opening the gas cap when the engine started to run rough ( yes i found my spare key ) It rerally didn't seem to help.  Any one know a good machanic around pewaukee wi. As of rite know i guess i'll have to take her in, but my but hurts just thinking about it.HELP HELP HELP                                                                                                                                                       Thank you vrcc 2838

It is always easier to help someone with a problem if they continue on with their original post. You had several responses to your original post, if you had continued with that and replied after trying some of the suggestions, it would be easier to help you

It seems to me you have a bad fuel petcock.

I'd suggest to get a new and better aftermarket fuel petcock.

You will not spend as much as what the dealer want from you
and besides, he's on he wrong track.

Definately agree with staying on same thread as Denny47 mentioned.

I browsed thru your previous posts. Seemed you had a leak around the petcock before. Did you rebulid it? Did you switch to another type of shut off valve?

If you search the forum for these topics you will find valuable info and strong opinions regarding petcock versus pingle, Dan Marc electric shutoff valves etc.

Always make sure the overall length of fuel line stays at original length. If it is longer it will create a "low spot" and the gravity feed fuel will not flow properly and cause fuel starvation.

Depending on what you have done under the tank so far I would suggest the following:

1. Order Petcock "Cover Set" and rebuild the internals
2. Make sure fuel line is OEM lentgh
3. Make sure tank vent line is in good condition, not kinked, and still has the plastic "T" about half way down.
