When I dropped my bike off the ramp, it also damaged the throttle side grip. I bought a pair Kury ISO grips off ebay but there was no instruction sheet. The new grip has the throttle cable slot insert already installed. Kury's online instructions only shows how to replace an over grip.

I have removed the old throttle grip but can't get the throttle cable ends installed into the new grip. Regardless of which one I start with the other does not have enough slack in it to properly re-seat in the grip end slot. I looked in the manual but the instructions are very vague.

I do not want to stretch or kink the cables but can't figure out how to increase the slack in the cables. On my other bike up simply adjust the cables at the locknuts at the back of the throttle assembly to increase or tighten cable slack. On the Valk only the top cable is adjustable and it is already screwed all the way in. I tried to increase slack buy removing the two locknut assemblies at the other end of the throttle cables but no luck there either.

Question....how the heck do you do it??

As always, all help is greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you have the correct part?  The grips I purchased fit over the OEM throttle tube.

Are the throttle cable slots on the new grips identical to the slots on the OEM throttle tube?

Yes, I have the correct grips. Some grips are "over" grips designed to replace the outer grip only. The others have the plastic grip and throttle insert. Mine are the second kind. And yes, the slots are in the same position, shape and size as the old ones. The problem is not that they won't fit. The problems is getting enough slack in the throttle cables to install them.

I guess I will just have to take the entire throttle cable assembly off to reinstall. I was just hoping there was an easy trick I was missing.

Thanks for the help,

No, you should not have to take off the cable assembly to install.  I replaced the OEM throttle tube at least once, and I did not remove or adjust anything.  Simply pulled the cable ends off the old one and installed the new one.

I think I did it without loosening the handlebars, but check out THIS THREAD.

Cover your tank with a heavy towel or blanket, and loosen the handle bar clamp.  Move the bars a bit to the left, and that should give you the slack you need.

Before you loosen the bar, make an alignment mark on it and the risers, so you can put the bar back where it was.
