I need new tires. Decided not to use a CT.
What is a good long wearing, good handling MC Tire?
Does Continental make any good MC tires?
A few years ago I had them on my FLHT and liked them.

Not another tire post. Oh well here goes, my preference are Avon Cobras. I've had Dunlop E3s and Metzler Marathon 880s, but they didn't wear as good as the Cobras. The Dunlops cupped within 3000 miles. Let the posts begin!

I've had Metzlers and currently have the E3's.
I hated the Metzlers. I love the E3's.
Regardless your preference, air pressure is the most important thing.

rear E-3, conti-go rear tire on front, expecting 20k from both indicated by tread wear so far. handling is fanastic, much better than the oem dunlops and metzlers I have used both of which gave 13k to the wear bars. I have surpassed that with the present combo. As for most Valk M/C tires applications : AVON COBRAS hands down.
If you are willing to try something a bit different, there CONTINENTAL MOTION sport touring tires. They are a bit narrower and have a lower profile. They are my next set for my 2K I/S to lower the bike somewhat and make the low speed steering a bit easier.
I'm not afraid to try something a bit "out of the box".

Good luck with this question The question of, "How long is a piece of string", comes to mind. Me I go for Avon Venom, others don't. 38 front 42 rear works for me but my climate and roads will differ to yours. There is an old post about putting them on setting a pressure, go for a ride then stop and take pressures again, if the pressure goes up by to much then the tyres are set to soft....add so air. All tyres will go up when warm, that is why we check em cold, but going up to high means your setting bis to low. Other more learnered members may be able to clarify. Good Luck

I believe Avon Venoms are no longer available, at least in the US. Venoms had a bad reputation, they seperated and tended to blow out. Cobras have a very good reputation! FWIW

I have Venoms on now........the rear is pretty worn and the sidewall got damaged during the FCR.
I had Venoms on my FLH and they only lasted about 6K.
