Some of us were talking about Maggie Valley, or that area anyway, for an Inzane...Well, we aren't alone apparently. Read this post from the Inzane Board. This would be fabulous for us Florida folks..even if it was still in July..which has never made sense to me, but it is considerably cooler up there than here. The folks who plan this thing have my undying gratitude and support, I just wish they would consider the options being offered. Link: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,57798.0.html

Me too, getting of riding north of bfe to events, 2 times northern Mich, north ark, then Wis. Time to have it farther south, Maggie Valley, Asheville or something in the smokie mtns area. Great riding in that area, and no shortage of hotels big enough for the event.

I cast my vote on the main board as well, for Maggie or Asheville. Let's see if the powers that be are listening.

Yep, but sad to say most times if 80% voted for a certain place, the staff picks where they want to go. If it is over 1300 miles from here, I will spend that week in the Smokies.

Once again, depending on exact time and location selected for Inzane 14, I too might just spend that week in Smokehole or some other Appalachian area. If the location is way west I might just do the replacement trip in mid June with "slightly" cooler temps and less rain than hot July.

James We could have our own little "Florida In The Mountains" event!! We all know some great places up that way, most of us have extensive ride time up there, I have a trailer to haul my bike up there (no 10 hour ride for me thanks).. , We could do it while it's still cool up there, like early June, late September or when ever we all decided to "wander on up thataway". Just a thought...... I would certainly be willing to put forth some of the organization required to pull it off if I could get some help. Whatchall think? Just picture it.... 15 or 20 Florida Valks leaning into this turn.....

Well....at the risk of sounding mutinous toward the VRCC, ... You're right it does. We have a whole continent of Valkyrie riders to consider. Florida is large and important in the VRCC map, but so are about four other states. I have Florida friends that I really enjoy seeing at InZane. I also have friends from a long ways from Florida that I enjoy seeing at InZane. If you feel the need to promote an anti-InZane gathering at least have the decency to do it other than on the board the VRCC has provided.

There is nothing at all anti-InZane about this. I do not believe I stated, directly or indirectly, "Have InZane where we want or we will just have our own". I have dreamed of going to an InZane event ever since I got my Valk. Time of the year and distance have always precluded me from being able to attend. I have always admired and respected the time and effort that must go into planning such and event and the people who make that happen. The word "mutinous" was used in jest as this event would in no way detract from or diminish the standing or attandance of the event you folks work so hard to organize. It's not positioned to interfere with the National event nor to compete with it. Many of us who ride down here, I'm sure, would like to have a gathering in the mountains, away from the heat in an area we all seem to really enjoy. We have talked about it before. So your rush to judgement on my motive and "decency" are extremely misplaced. I hope this explains my intentions, if not, I invite you to remove the post. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Carl, I agree this was NOT ment to be a ANTI-INZANE. I was one of the 3 Fl rider's that made it to this years event and I loved it. I plan on going this upcoming year, if I can work it out with my Job. I have wanted to go in the past but location or work was always a issue. Other local board have posted thier rides here why can't WE. Some member have muit club's/groups and line up events can be a issue in deviding vac time. David

I am not trying to create a conflict with the VRCC events, my problem is the distance to these events. As twice in Bellaire, mi 3000 miles rd trip each time,Frisco, Co 4462 rd trip, Eureka Springs 2268, La Crosse 3016 miles rd trip. I just have a hard time justifying 5 to 6 days on the road, and $400 to $500 for hotels just getting to the event. Plus in a couple month i will be 70 years old and not into trips that long. As I said, if then next one is that far, I will spend my time in the Smokies and spend a whole lot less.

Okay, I reread your post and my assessment based upon the wording is that it was not a rush to judgement. What may help to understand my view is that 1) I'm just in a really pissy mood today and 2) I have experienced a history of this same approach several years back when the VRCC attempted to placate our western members by holding an InZane in Colorado. I really would like to see a group of VRCC people be able to get together in the Appalachians and enjoy the beauty that part of the country has to offer. Based upon already experience history I just have some problem with the wording, "if the event is somewhere we would rather not venture to, ..., we could have our own little "Florida In The Mountains" event!" I'll discuss it no further to prevent myself from exceeding reasonable limits. I've said what I intended to say and I'm done with it. You all do what you think is best.

Carl, Sorry you are having a bad day - I have them to. So we can put out "rides" as long as we are not riding during InZane meet - which we do not have a date or location for next year? Maybe we should rename it post to "a ride to the hills just not during InZane" and not "Seems like we are not the only ones...." . I would welcome a ride with my Fl Bro's to the North at anytime I can make it. David

I'll discuss it no further to prevent myself from exceeding reasonable limits. I've said what I intended to say and I'm done with it. You all do what you think is best. Well Sir, you started the discussion..not me. Your "pissy mood" aside, there is no "approach" and no one is seeking placation, by you or any one. So if the event is someplace we would rather not venture to then having an event we did want to go to would be wrong? Really? I can not speak for any one but me here, but many of us can not go to an InZane that is too far away due to time and finances, so, a good alternative and good planning would be to have a nice ride-in up in the Appalachians with any one who wanted to attend. NOT a threat, NOT an ultimatum, JUST an alternative for some of us who like riding up there. I called it a Florida event because we are utilizing the Florida board which is inhabited mostly by Florida people with whom we are all pretty well acquainted. Feel free to exceed any reasonable limits you have set for yourself. Your rush to judgement was wrong and flawed as was your assessment of my post. I'm sorry my wording was not to your liking. I have said what I need to say now also. You do what you think is best.

Just an observation, but that seems to be happening more frequently as of late. Shouldn't a forum moderator be....um, well, more moderate?

I'm sorry he got angry over this, but he has grossly over-reacted here. And yeah BF, moderation would have been the prudent course here! Thanks again. And now that this little side show is over, what does everyone think about a ride-in to the mountains? Time and date to be determined by the group. And for my sake, please use this post: http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,61482.msg591167.html#msg591167. I have removed "some" of the offensive material!? Thanks
