Does anyone know "what or where" to look for an electronic isolation module to use for the trailer lights. I don't want to chance overload and electrical fire of the moto. Looking to use the moto's battery source to power the trailer lights rather than just tapping into the wiring.
Put the trailer hitch on today and will put the trailer together tomorrow.

I'm not sure how Bill (Grumpy) has his hooked up Ron but he is close to you and may be able to give some advice as well. Speaking of that..where are you Bill? Haven't seen you on the board lately!

Will this work for LED boat trailer lights?

I use the same converter, have had multiple led lights on it, also towed trailers with incandescent lights. Works fine with either type.

I'm really having one heck of a time finding out what's going on with the license plate lite. I traced both the tail/brake lite and the plate/turn signal wiring color coded wires to the center junction, next to battery, and are correct "but" got some problems. If I hook same color coded wires at that junction I get nothing. If I switch the Grn/Yel wires to the Brn/Wht wires I get brake/running lite and turn signals but not license light. The license plate light will work when brake is applied. This tells me something is screwed up from juction to forward of bike. I also have a Grn/Spot wire and a Wht/Red wire that were cut and left hanging to forward of the junction. Any electrical "Guru's" here to lend a hand? Thanks
I could take a picture tomorrow if anyone wants to see the actual wires I'm describing?

Ron, check out these schematics that RP Brown has on the Rattlebars page. They are easier to read than looking at the paper documents or any of the other published sites. The left column is for Standard and Tourer and the right column is for Interstate. RP put a lot of effort into these schematics. He is also a very good source for Valkyrie electrical information. Be a good idea to bookmark this link. http://www.rattlebars.com/valkfaq/schematics/index.html

Thanks Thunderbolt! I looked at the various diagrams and did find a rear fender split which I did not see before up above the rear tire area. Guess I'll have a look tomorrow. Don't think that will be the problem though. It's probably a plug to plug with not mods to it. The two dangling wires are probably a switched accessory connection.

When I was remodeling my Valk, and wiring in new components and re-wiring the hornets nest at the rear fender, these 3 wiring schematics saved my butt several times. The color diagrams are in the back of the Clymers manual. The Honda manual has black and white diagrams......totally useless to me. I need color. The wiring diagrams in the back of the Clymers manual are IMHO, priceless. Get yerself a Clymers manual.

Yes I already have two Clymer's and have been looking at the schematics. My problem is from junction, under right cover, to a forward wiring problem. As I've said, matching color coded wires at juction, nothing works. Crossing produces results but not license plate light except when brake is applied.
I'm thinking of disconnecting the Brn wire, at the license plate, and running a new wire up to the brake light assembly, and connecting it to the running light side of the brake light.
