Dang it! Sure not what I was hoping to read when I went to our site. Thank God that Bill religiously wears his protective gear. He still talks of how his helmet saved him when someone cut him off on the interstate during his last mishap.

Heal quickly and totally my friend! Prayers are going out for your complete healing and recovery, as well as for Anna when she has to deal with you while you are laid up. While I am glad that you were not hurt worse, but being thrown to the ground and the aftermath hurts like he77 at our age.  Cry

What a shock!
Grumpy is probably the one person who knows a Valk better than anyone in his neck of the woods.
Lesa and I will say a prayer as well for Grumpy and a speedy recovery.

Will echo the sentiment about safety gear. Who knows how much worse it could have been without it. It is very tough on a hot day to put it on but none the less.....if you care for those who care for you then....wear it! Period.

I arrived home a few hours ago from a late departure from Silver Springs and taking "the long way" home... and decided to log on to say what a great time I had seeing everyone... this wasn't the sort of news I expected.  Sad

Grumpy, get well soon... prayers sent from Wellington.

Wow...that is major suckage right there.

Very glad to hear it was not worse!  Wearing gear will save your ass the majority of the time...I'm and ATGATT kinda guy and I am glad to hear he was wearing his.

Speedy recovery my friend!

Get well quickly, Bill. Jane and I have you in our prayers. I know you won't ask, but if you need ANYTHING, all you need for all of us to respond is just hint.

While I have not had a physical update today as of yet I spoke to Murphey this morning. He was going to work with Bill's wife to get bike release papers in order today if possible as the bike is property, there are legal issues that have to be attended to for said release from the towing company. The towing company is selected on a rotation basis by the investigating Florida State troopers. We did inquire at the scene about having it taken to his home at the time, it was not an option we were allowed by state LEO due to proof of ownership, owner release, etc..
I have a single bike trailer in possession and ready to hitch up and go that I used to transport my own tourer from Alabama; it should be adequate to pick up the bike in Bushnell and return it to Bill's home. I thank those also offering the same and until the bike is at Bill's home I would like to retain the offers for other trailer use if the need should occur for some unknown reason. We would have liked to have been able to pick it up today but the impound lot was not open for recovery today(Sunday). As long as our paperwork is in order we should be able to pick the bike up by 5:00 pm Monday.
As I had mentioned BCoys daughter, I had not thanked or spoke of Bill Coy's own actions in coordinating not only the rescue but also getting the bike up out of the birm and collecting every single bit, piece, part of the bike, effects, everything of the incident. A task that Murphey nor myself quite frankly do not have the physical strength to do. Anyone that has tried to push their Valk on rough ground, up a grade knows this. Once again, Bill Coy, Thank you.
I will update Bill's progress as the information becomes available for release that might be relayed for posting.

Billy Boy that's the latest update from James last night

I posted the hospital and room # (Thanks guys for getting that info) over to the thread Flask started letting the main board know about Bill's crash. Hopefully TJ can find out tomorrow how long they will leave him in Lakeland or move him closer to home in Tampa. I would like to go visit him on Wednesday if he is still there.

Bill's Gurl is back home!
Murphy, Jerry of the Sheffjs, Bill's son Bill, and I went up to Bushnell this morning and picked up Bill's machine and she's now home. I sure that will be a relief for him. We chatted a while with Bill's wife both this morning and this evening when we got back. A family to be proud of for sure! We really enjoyed having Bill's son with us today as it was almost like having Bill with us the whole time. Young Bill hit the key and the bike started right up!

God Bless everyone who made Grumpy's accident less of an ordeal than it could have been. Prayers for an easy and painless recovery, and complete restoration of both Bill & the Valk.

Great job you guys!! I had my GW towed once after a mechanical malfunction. We were in VA on a big ride. Went to get it and take it to a Honda shop for repair and they had stolen so much stuff off of it. It's an irrelevant and long story. Needless to say, Bill will be so glad to have it home. So, how bad is the bike?

who've picked up the bike and sent our wishes on.
