My splines look to be wore pretty bad. The hub mostly. The inner drive spline not so much. Probably need to replace as mate but the hub seems to be the one to wear more. Any recommends and of any just replacing just the hub and luck with that?

Some nice close up photos of the flange teeth and the drive splines cleaned of grease of course would help immensely in forming an opinion..... Roll Eyes

My vote is to replace them both.

Photos would be good.  However, keep in mind that worn splines rarely have the same shape as new splines.  So what happens when you run new splines against worn splines is that the surface pressure is uneven and will cause rapid wear in the higher pressure areas.  This rapid wear will be in the good splines as well as the worn splines.  Bottom line is you still have a weak spot in the driveline and you have destroyed a good spline in the process.

I agree. Looked closer at the inner splines and not to good. may order the gear set and the hub. Not sure ordeal getting into replacing the gear set in the stump. Anyone done that and info, appreciated.

It is kind of tedious when you're a novice like me (don't know about you) but
it is possible to get a used final for a 1500 wing from a trike shop or eBay (cheap)
and press out the splines from the ring gear and put them in the Valkyrie ring gear.

I started with this:

Good used Valkyrie finals seem to run around $300 to $500 when you can find them.

Mating a new $150 flange to a worn final would be better than walking, but it
wouldn't be "fixed"...

I just did this to my Bike, whole rear end cost $49 plus a little shipping. I have a 12 ton press and it worked fine. just changed the cup from one ring to the other and kept my ring and pinion. This board is great for imformation.
