First time for everything I guess. Had a nice lunch at Big Game in Ft Myers and came out to go and no start, just click, click.
Suspected battery or electrical so tried to jump start in 3rd gear and it wouldn't turn over.
Pulled all three plugs on the left side and sure enough, hit the starter and gas flew out and sprayed my buddy. I think it was both 4 and 6.
Started up and rode it to the place I'm staying.
Obviously, the petcock is gone and one or two floats are stuck. I emptied the bowls and left the drains open. The petcock will shut off but turn it to "on" or "reserve" and the gas starts flowing.
I'm most likely not going to pull the carbs here in the back yard, but I could rebuild the petcock if I can get my hands on a service kit. The petcock was rebuilt only 3 years ago.
After 0 degree weather last weekend at home, just missing the circus in Atlanta, then 3 days of rain here, I'm ready to ride. Now this.
If anyone can help me out tomorrow or Monday I would be grateful and will replace the kit as soon as I can get my hands on one.
I got one at home but the earliest I could get it here would be Wednesday.
Thanks for reading and any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are a couple of us that have them. Think there is a thread a little ways down (in the Florida forum) about this. I am located about 30 miles North of Orlando though so prob will not be of much help. You can get one off of Ebay just as fast as I can send you mine. Here is the link....hope it helps! http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,64131.0.html

Hello Bill,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the Fat Gurl. I don't have a kit either, and am even further away from you than Pappy. I am up on the East coast, about 20 miles south of Daytona Beach. Since your petcock shuts off in the off position you should be OK as long as you don't forget when to turn it off when you shut off the engine. How long are you down for? I'm having to go north next week - tax time and business.
If you still here when I get back maybe we can meet up somewhere. If not, then up in MA in the summer.
Hope you get it all taken care of so you can get some riding in.
Pete

And when you get back home, the first chance you get you should replace that fool thing with something other than OEM. That darn thing is the weakest link in the fuel delivery system on the Valkyrie and it seems to be borne out almost weekly.

Thanks all for the response. I'm having the cover set I got at my house in MA overnighted and should get it Tuesday. I'll run with it till I get back north then install the Dan Marc I got sitting in my shop. Pete, I might be heading up your way to see the nascar Whelen modified on the 18th, maybe we could get together than. Thanks again

Bill, you have a PM. My choice; use both. Manual Pingel and DanMarc.
