Just got my pinion cup off and according to the manual and the Partzilla diagram where the part was ordered there should be a large O-ring, part # 91359-MG9-003, (#35 on the diagram). I appears to go between the cup and the pinion retainer but that don't look right on the bike. Can one of you Valkyrie wizards please help? Thanks again Virgil in Mississippi

that o-ring must be inside......there is no o-ring to be seen or serviced whenever you yank the drive shaft out of the pinion cup.  I wouldnt worry about it

Did you just pull the drive shaft for maintenance or remove the pinion cup from the final drive to replace it and the driveshaft due to failure?   If its was maint then then that oring isn't involved but if its replacement then....

The O-ring you are referring to (91359-MG9-003) goes on the outside of part (41331-MN5-000) #10 RETAINER, BEARING.
You don't need it even if you remove the Retainer.
You will not see this O-ring when removing the Pinion Cup.  It has nothing to do with the Pinion Cup.

THIS BEGAN AS MAINTENENCE BUT I FOUND THE CUP BONE DRY AND WORN SO I AM REPLACING IT AND THE SHAFT. NEVER SUSPECTED ANYTHING BEFORE TEARING INTO IT. i JUST COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHERE THE BIG ORING WENT

I removed a good pinion cup from a bad final drive and still saw no o-ring........

I recently replace my pinion cup/drive shaft. I also got the O-ring you are mentioning.   When you take the pinion cup off, there is a retainer held in place by a screw(s).   Under this retainer is the O-Ring you are talking about.  My O-ring is still in the bag in my parts box.

It's only needed if you tear into the final drive further than is necessary for changing the pinion cup......  The drawings are a bit misleading.
