Here is what I bought through Amazon, could have bought straight from JC Motors but chose to buy through Amazon. I chose the 12.5" because I went to the heavy duty spring and was concerned that there would be less sag and just my WAG that 12.5" would be a fair try. I;m happy with them. You're right, that Progressive's site does not list them for the Valkyrie, but several other sites do and I had read that others here had installed the 444s. The only thing I can say is that i did not get them in completely unmolested. What I mean by that is the eyelets where the mounting bolts go has these plastic like bushings. Theses bushings have washers formed on each side of those eyelets. The combined thickness of that washer area and the shock at those mounting points, is just a little too thick to fit. My remedy was to remove some of that washer material. I can see no adverse issues with doing this and I like the ride. It's just a FYI deal. The other options would be to find some leftover 440s,used interstate shocks,Works shocks or settle for the 412s or 416s. I'm happy with the results. I expect Progressive to honor their warranty if I have issues, but am hoping that doesn't happen. I realize that my removing some of the washer material at the eyelets could cause a picky issue with a warranty claim. It shouldn't... but that's just my opinion.

There really is no mechanical reason it should, but you need to be aware of it. I know the 440s seem to have a high failure rate but the 444s are a completely new design. That is one reason i didn't want the 440s.
