I also posted this on the General board, some folks hardly ever look in both places. I have an '84 GL1200 Std. restoration project that I'm currently working on. It has a plastic radiator shroud at the top and bottom of the radiator and the mounting holes for it are damaged. One is cracked the other broken off, so I was directed to the following video which might come in handy when fixing the tabs on the side panels of our Valks.

Wow. Two great products that I had no idea existed. Now I can repair any number of things that I was ready to give up on. Thanks, guys.

Does anyone have a list of the plastics that Past-aid will bond to? I couldn't find it on the website. So far it hasn't stuck to either my phone clip or the intake duct I tried to fix with it. So far it makes a really cool plastic marble... But the marble bounces like crazy!

Ok, I feel stupid. It helps to loke at the BACK of the instructions too...
Plast-aid is good on (Chemically binds to): acrylic, ABS, Polycarbonate, PVC, styrene. Mechanically binds to rough/porous surfaces (i.e. wood etc).
Does NOT bond to polyethylene, nylon or rubber. My phone and the intake housing were probably poly.

Just happened to revisit this post in my bookmarks and I came across another super cheap repair. Super glue and baking soda. I bought a very neglected IS with a busted right radiator pod (the top two screws that hold the rear panel on place had been ripped completely out and the plastic pieces were gone. I was able to build up the void with super glue and baking soda and then shape it with my Dremel tool. I haven't painted it yet, but also used this to replace some pulled out brass inserts in the fairing and fill holes in the pods. I plan to use it to rebuild a broken tab on the center cover and patch some holes drilled in the trunk. There are several videos on youtube that you can watch to see the process. I'll try and post some pics of the pod repair if I get a chance.
You can buy super glue 2 tubes for a buck at the dollar store and BS is probably in your kitchen cabinet. I plan to carry a little of each on the bike for emergency repairs.

I suggest SEM 50 for plastic. It's amazing.

Which SEM 50 product did you use? I want to fix my pods. The Baker air wings cracked and broke off a little piece of my pods.

I like the 40507 because it starts to set in about 45 seconds. It's the best I have found for repairing plastic. I've even used it to replace broken plastic thread bosses with success.

Not directly related to plastics repair, but someone may find this helpful. It's like an online tool for adhesive advice, and it's almost too simple to use. http://www.thistothat.com/
