i bought an Integrated LED Tail-light kit which has let turns integrated into the tail light (LED board).. I'm also thinking of replacing my stock turns with led...problem is, it seems since I have a single turn signal indicator light I will need a cross diode kit... also the kit comes with a flasher relay...my research seems to indicate I will need one to power the turns and the cross diode kit to slow down my flashing rate.. my question is... is it worth it to do all this work and splice into the wiring or is it just better to let it go? the new led tail/brake lamp works fine (plug and play) but i don't want to hook up the turns yet. has anyone does such mods, and if so is it easy to do and worth the effort? thanks so much to all you who respond! cooldude

Only you can decide whether  it is worth it  Wink

I have done mine, replaced the flasher unit with an LED compatible one ( I can't see the point in using ballast resistors) and did the 2 diode mod from Chet's page cost me about £6 ($9) all in. The LED's are bright and draw less current letting the battery power important things like the engine.

I agree with what Colin says.     MGM was converted to LED turns before the Trike conversion.     So far I have only changed the bulbs in the Trike kit.

It is a Radiant setup.   Since the Trike kit uses VTX lamps and no other turn signal, I had to use the LED in the Radiantz kit.     So far no problem.   This system must have a built in load equalizer and a diode to only let the circuit go ONE direction.     Basically it was a plug & play.   These VTX lamps are not near as BRIGHT as the single I had on MGM before converting.     I haven't bothered to mess with it.

I'm also trying to get LED tail, brake and turn in the Dakota.     So far, I have only been able to get one side to work periodically hooked into the truck.

Take it off the truck and they work like they are supposed to.   So, somewhere in my truck wiring there is a glitch that is mirkin everything up.

I'll work on it a few more times and if it no work correctly, I send the kit back and put my EOM lamps back in.   I have to get it working right by June 7, and returned by the 9th if not working.    We have put a sheet load of these in cars/trucks at the shop and not a hitch.     Glad it is on my truck instead of a customers.    They might get pessed off.

This way it keeps me busy for a few more days.........   LOL........

Converted all my turn signals to LED's last month. Purchased all from superbrightleds and I have absolutely no regrets. Got my flasher unit from them as well and used the Diode mod from Chet's page for the turn signal indicator. Results are much brighter lights.

Thanks! What is chet's page? also, where is the flasher unit located on the valkyrie.. my clymer and my owners manual fail to mention that. is it true that i should place the diode mod as close to the turn indicator as possible? thanks so much!

You will have to do the digging on his site to find it.   I got ya this far, so enjoy.

Also, here is another site you might want to store the link away for future use.

Search for my past posts. I had listed all parts from superbrightleds along with their respective links.
