I rode US-16A and SD-87 in Custer State Park today.  BTW, in the Black Hills.  Together, they have the Tail of the Dragon beat.  If you pay too much attention to the views on Needles hwy (SD-87) you could be in for a long drop.  Insane XV will be terrific here.

NO excuses for me next year if I miss it. Since i have been around this group the closest as been a full 3 day ride each direction and I just don't have that kinda time plus  time at inzane. Spearfish even on the scenic perferred route is only a long day ride a little over 500 miles just over 400 if I take the direct route but what fun is that.

It's great to see we have a GZ city for Inzane XV.  Rode thru Spearfish twice today, to and from Devils Tower.

Connie, he isn't there yet.

Plus you know fudgie, he gets into a lot of decision changes.    LOL.

He is like me right now.    I think I got the stuff to keep me alive on O2 all lined up, but I won't know till I get there and look at the equipment.   One says they will deliver items needed daily.    The other one says if it is too far for them to drive, then I have to pick it up.      They are almost ready to be told to go to 4377.    If they are in the same town and say it is too far to drive to deliver items, the I know for sure they will be told to shove it where the sun no shine.

RJ, I still plan on riding thru Des Moines on my way to Inzane to ride along with you, even though you will be in your hot-rod truck.  So if you need assistance with all that gear, I'll be there.

A number of them are open during June.  However, the level of activity is quite different at that time!

Santa, I wasn't directly involved in the negaotiations, but from what information I've received the hotel prices at the end of negotiations are consistent with or slightly better than have been the past few InZanes.

Smiley  Spending your money where it does the most good is also meaningful.  We need folks to spend their money staying at Ground Zero each year as the hosting hotel takes part of that money to take care of services they provide.  We do our best to make that as good a deal as we can.  Sometimes they are not cheap.  Michigan wasn't, but they were nice rooms.  Come to think of it, when it comes to the quality of available rooms cheap is not our goal, but reasonable is always good.

I definitely wouldn't call the rates cheap, but we did get them hammered down quite a bit.  The rooms are very nice, all remodeled.  Their rack rate for that time frame is $130-$140 for King or Double Queen.

Our rate for King or Double Queen is $94.99; Suites 124.99; $10 extra for pool side.  I tried to get them to $89... wouldn't go.

Wow, that's a significant savings! Thanks so much to the staff for once again coming through with great accomodations.

I see no reason anyone would call the hotel on their own. I doubt they would get anywhere near that good of a price.

From today's perspective, the chance is very high that I will be able to attend the InZane on the other side of the big pond. The location is perfect, never been there. The date is perfect, Mom's birthday is on June 14th, so there will be enough time to make it back to PA. The Job now only has to play along.  cooldude

The route you have from Spearfish to Denver.

That is one SLOW route.    Last time I was on it, it was narrow in places, LOTS of fun curves however.

Ya just don't wantto be in a hurry taking it.    It is also in what I consider a descolate (sp) area.

Don't remember too many gas stations and etc on it.

Maybe some one from the area will pipe up and give ya a more up to date information.      It was several years ago that i took that road.

That would be my prediction.   What I said was that I doubt attendance will be as high from east coasters and from the SE US or something close to that and I hoped that west coast riders will be there in large numbers to make up the difference.    I sincerely do hope I'm wrong.

I can see for Texans (depending on where they are in TX), it won't make much difference.    From where I am in KY, it's two days in the saddle to get there and two to return.   Those will all be long days.   Add in a week of Inzane, that's most of my vacation for the year.    The decision to attend is not just about wanting to be there.

To be clear, I am not griping about the location and sincerely do appreciate the early notification and really want to go.    I'm just being honest about the reality of who I think will be attending.    Again, I hope this Inzane is a attendance record setter.   To do that, those that haven't attended the east of the Mississippi events are going to have to step up and fill in the numbers.

Doable, but I would be doing your trip in 3 days each way; two longer days and a final short day to be fresher when meeting people and to allow time for someone to come get you with their trailer for the last hour's travel.  Evil
