I know how to repair just about anything on my bike but wiring just isn't my thing. I just removed all the pollution control parts and installed a dan marc fuel shut off. I want to find the right place in the fuse area to wire the positive. I previously installed a charging port in my trunk using the extra accessory lead can I just splice into that? and if so should I put in an inline fuse?  uglystupid2

I am definitely not a wiring expert. But I would think you would be better off using a relay for your charging station (triggered by the acc. Wire)  Then I think it would be fine to splice into the acc. line for the Dan-Marc. I would be concerned about charging something and not having enough juice to power the fuel shutoff or blowing the acc. Fuse.

Yes and yes. I used the accessory wire for both my amp and usb port which both have an inline fuse. If I ever add anything else ill add relays. Or maybe one of those little control boxes hubcap has used.

What is the full load amps on the solenoid? Id say a 2 amp would be plenty.

Ok, just looked it up and it is .75 amps, so a 1 amp fuse would work fine.

The OEM switched accessory circuit is a 5 amp circuit. You can wire the Dan Marc right into that circuit without worry. If you prefer to add an additional fuse then I'd be a bit leery of a 1 amp fuse as it's too close to the rating of the Dan Marc. If you opt for a fuse I'd recommend anywhere between 2-3 amps. You certainly don't want a fatigued fuse blowing and shutting you down for no good reason.

And for a little more security you could check this

http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,18768.0.html

Way down is a diagram from MarkT for installation of a push-button initiator for the valve. If you don't push the button after turning the key (or someone tries to steal the bike without knowledge of this button) the valve doesn't open and the bike dies of fuel starvation within about a mile.
It also shows how to add an LED to show you that the valve is powered on...

I did something similar on my bike, but rather than use a push button I used a keyed switch that I bought off eBay.
