Get your crayons ready! Cheesy It looks like you'll be able to colour in at least one more state on your map.  If you play with your route a little bit, you could colour in four or five!  Grin

If I counted right, right now it's seven from Germany this time...
It seems we need to organize a German cookout.  Smiley

I would volunteer to prepare some german brats - for the good cause...
Is there room in the calendar one afternoon to have that organized?

Registrations are certainly coming in nicely in the short period they've been open.  cooldude

Anyone recall the final on-site registration totals last year in Asheville?  I'm thinking this one is going to top my home state. Cheesy

Devils Tower and the Badlands are both National Parks/Monuments.  You do not have to get passes in advance.  I see you are a little short, in age, of getting a Senior Pass that allows you to access National Parks, free of charge, for the rest of you life.

You can get them at the entrance of the park for  $10.00 I think it is.

I got one 20 years ago and I have gotten my $10.00 back 1,000 fold.

Just tell them you want to buy a Senior Pass.

Takes about as long to get it that way, as it would be to pay them and get change.

Here is a link to obtain the pass through the mail.   Looks like ya have to jump through about 9 hoops to do it this way.

https://store.usgs.gov/pass/senior_pass_application.pdf

Do a Google search for 'Senior National Park Pass'.    You can read faster than I can type.

You can purchase a National Parks Pass that is good for all national parks for a year.  It cost about or less than the price of two park passes.

Just a note on the senior Nat'l Park Passes, they are not good at Mt. Rushmore, that is a pay entry only.

That's correct, Mt. Rushmore does not charge admission.  Entry charges are for PARKING.  That's their story anyway.

I'm not sure if I will be able to make it to Inzane this year. My daughter is having  another grandson for us (number 9 in the grandkids count) at the same time as Inzane and we are going to take care of her other two children for awhile to help out. I really wanted to go so bad. I was going to make it a 3 or 4 week trip. But it looks like I'll stay home, in my book Family always comes first.

Santa, take the 2 kids to IZ with ya.    Have them call you when she pops the baby.

That way you can announce what flavor it is, him or her.

Enjoy the grandkids Santa.

I got you in years, but ya got me in Grand Babies.   I only have 9 and none in the bay door.  One of my older grandkids however popped us out a pair of twins 2 years ago, so we do have 4 Great Grand Babies.

You will need a park pass to do Needles HWY. If you get a pass at Needles/Custer, it should be good for other parks to for the week, at least thats how it works at Rally time. If you dont want to see Rushmore up close, there is a pull off between Rushmore and Keystone SD. Alot park there. Its actually the road side. You also dont need a park pass to do Devils Tower. You can go into the trading post etc without it. Still a good view. Be sure to stop at the general store in Alladin WY on your way to the Tower.  cooldude

Brian, when did they stop requiring a pass or charging at Devil's Tower?   When I was up there a few years ago, that is where I got my Senior card.     If I could find it, I think it is a lifetime one.

Okay, that explains it, you never went through the gate to Devil's Tower, where the Park Ranger is located in his little shack.     Everything outside the entrance is free to wander around.

rk,

Santa lives way up north in Ardmore, AL, right by the Tennessee state line... I live in Wetumpka, however... I am still waffling back and forth about InZane, one day I'm definitely going, the next... I dunno... My GF won't be able to go, so...

I will most likely be going, though. Oh well... All my grandkids are big, and no babies are in the hopper in either generation, so no worries or potential show-stoppers on that score... It's simply a matter of motivation at this point...

We have another Valk pilot, Hal Beckham, who lives in Alexander City... I don't know if he's inclined to make the trek this time or not. Anyway, we all need to do a ride sometime to compare notes and such... Ever have breakfast at the Huddle House in Tallassee? I sometimes do... in fact, I'm thinking I may run by there this morning for some grits & such... I'm waiting for the temps to climb to 30F before pulling the trigger on that call...

I found a post that indicated we had 164 signed up for Inzane 2014 on March 10, 2014.  As of today, Feb 18, 2015, there are 225 signed up for Inzane 2015.  Looks like a much bigger event this year, at least so far.  Looking forward to seeing tons of Fat Gurls!
