Well I opened her up today and what I found was the PAIR valve intact and the PAIR control valve assembly still there also. The only plugs I found on the intake riser nipples were on cyls 1,2, and 5. #,4, and 6 had the vacuum lines still intact to the PAIR valves.
So here's the question; could this have been the cause of the off idle hesitation? Bad Reed or PAIR valves?
Another question; could I leave the chrome air tubes and just plug the ends where they transition to rubber? I wiuld think some silicone and a bolt in the rubber hose would accomplish the goal. ??
You can leave the chrome pipes where they are. I used some rubber hose left over from my de-smog and plugged the ends of 2 -3 " pieces with JBWeld. I used hose clamps to hold them on the pipes and zip tied the pipes together so they don't swing around. Been like that on my Black 99CT for 6-7 years.
I did that so I can re-install the smog crap if my communist state ever mandates OEM, which I'm beginning to think they won't, but I wouldn't be surprised.
