Any suggestions on removing lower pod hex bolt that's closely situated just above the valve cover?

Get a good set of T-handles...that will help you.

Just remember, when removing the pods, there are (only) three mount locations and you do not need to take them apart into little pieces to remove them.  But you may need to remove or loosen them up to access any fastener buried or hidden while assembled.

Hi, I had the very same problem two days ago. I drilled it and tapped in a splined socket, 6 point. That shifted it !!

Got it! Just removed the 3 bolts as pictured and slid the intact front pod off....all other subassembly bolts now easily removable with the pod OFF the bike.
Thanks guys.

One of the 2 short bolts that hold the pod goes in front close to the radiator. DO NOT under any circumstances use the long bolt in that position. Don't ask how I know this!  Roll Eyes The long bolt ONLY gets used on the lower outside hole. RIDE SAFE.

And, don't tighten them like you're trying to win at arm wrestling. Just snug, or you'll crack the plastic.

+1 to avoid excessive torque when reassembling the pods.
