swabby420, unless your front fender came with a two tone paint job (strips etc.) put something, anything, on that front fender otherwise it's butt ugly. Stick a decal on there if that's all you can afford. It's the particular curvature of the front part of the fender that makes the fender look like well reminds me of a
porpoise. The sides of the fender are contoured nicely. Unfortunately the side contours don't continue on and wrap around the front of the fender which would facet some flat planes on the curve.
The intermediate post at 'A' below, on an Oem, reinforces the upper and lower rails. It might not be necessary with the MCE rails, maybe those have larger (stronger) tubing. The purpose of the plaque at 'B' is to hide the front mounting bolt. (I've had rust spots form on the welds so I leave a layer of Turtle Wax on there without wiping it off). It's hard to clean behind 'C' since there isn't very much clearance around the spot the guard rails bolt up to the fork holder. At any rate, it'll take a little more effort cleaning the front fender from now on becuz you have to squeeze a rag between the guard rails.
