Hi tech

You can never have enough garage wood laying around.

After my house rebuild I collected a lot of garage wood.  cooldude

Hi tech

With a lift adapter you don't need any other support.  Funny the wooden one is called the low tech adapter but with out it you need high tech used paint cans LOL

For most work, I only use my jack, but for tire changes/rear service, or any pulling hard on wrenches, I use the jack and one jack stand under an engine guard.  You don't really need two..... unless your work requires jumping up and down on the seat.   Grin

When I couldn't get the wrong shock back on I was jumping up and down all over the garage.

1 - I don't think I have cans with the right color paint in them to do what Paul did.

2- harbor freight regularly has deals on jack stands.  With 4of them and some garage wood adapters( if you don't have saddle bag mounts), you can set the bike down, remove the jack/lift adapter, and have a very stable bike to work/jump on.
