Hello I am in process of making more tools for when I need to work on bike this time the clutch. I read one article on how to compress,  another on a 2 x 4 holder. Well can anyone tell me how deep does the 46mm 12 point socket need to be? Have one I need to cut and weld in a piece of pipe. Just ordered a used basket so I can line up disks. Thank You

All I remember is I ordered deep sockets, and they reached fine. Just go to your toll box and measure how tall a deep socket is (2-3" ?).

Sounds like you might have already found the dual ready-rode to use as a clamp to compress the clutch pack.
