Hi guys, I hope we can get some turn out at this, including myself.
It's a New Year, and hoping to get some motivation going to get some kind of a membership meet up.
SNIP! New date/address posted further down.
During the better weather months, there should be time to group up a little and go for a short ride after the meeting.
Hope to see you there.

Is anyone planning on attending? No one has posted yet.
I'll be there, alone with I must, most likely by 5pm, and hope to have my Inzane 15 shirt on.
Traffic was bad tonight, accidents both ways on the Alex Fraser bridge. I left Tim's at 7:30 when traffic finally started moving on the Island.

Hey Gord, Sorry I didn't get there tonight. I was planning on coming over after work. Unfortunately my daughter was hit from behind while on the freeway late this afternoon so we got caught up in the mess it caused. No one was hurt but we are pretty sure both vehicles will be written off. Both vehicles ended up wrapped up in the guard wire in the meridian. I'm hoping to get to the next one. paul

I hope she is still OK, and it's just the car that's the problem.
Well it's getting warming and the days longer each week, so I'm hoping people will be turning more over to ridding.

Ah.. go ahead, rub it in.... Besides, it should be Life's a Beach.... Was going to try to go to Cuba too, before those Yanks ruin it , but since Tess had her surgery, no go. Current plan, her sisters 60th next year in Vegas. I would expect the boys will show up and do our own things. Spearmint Rhino here we come!!!

Sorry, I have no desire to ride to Delta on a week night....crappy ride from MR....I like to get away from traffic on the bike, not into it. Maybe another time....another place.

Maybe another time....another place. Mike
I'm all for that, I choose this as a starting point. Lets meet up and set something else up. I know my fellow GW riders meet here every week, and we have people coming from N Van to Fort Langley, and all points in between. It can be very s%&$ty to get there. I know the Vermin meet every 2nd Sat morning for breakfast and a ride. I believe I suggested that also, but didn't know a nice restaurant we could meet up at that is central for all. I know Richmond, and could recommend a few places here.

Gord, Anything west of New Westminster is great for Vancouverites but sucks for any of our riders out in the valley. Perhaps we could meet in Fort Langley. Riders north of the river can access it easily by crossing the Golden Ears bridge and members from the south can use Hwy 10 and hwy 1. The Goldwing meeting place is never going to attract our valley riders midweek. No one wants to ride into rush hour traffic.....most would prefer to head east away from the congestion. JMHO Breakfast is always a really good idea for me (my favorite meal of the day) but again, we should meet farther out the valley because that is probably where we will ride after we eat (Langley is close to hwys 1 and 7 east or west). We live in a cone shaped valley so unless we head to Whistler we are forced to go east. We might as well start our rides clear of most of the traffic and congestion. paul

I'm all for it, we just need to get some people together and decide on a place. As I said, I know Richmond. I suggested Roadrunner Café at 62 Ave and 203 St in Langley. Good breakfast. Then like you suggested, we can head out to Hope.
We'll do something like than soon. I at least have a bike now, a Valkyrie even, and it's insured.
Mike, how about some place your side of the River?

Now for the meeting tonight. It was a success!! We had a total of 5 people show up, and 4 bikes. Thank you Paul, Mike, Jack, and Ed, for putting the time in and showing up. We had Paul's Blue IS, Ed's custom White GL1800 Valkyrie and Jackson's Rune in the back. Sorry, not too good of a picture, I didn't want to take a shot into the sun, or the reflection into the camera. My complete setup, Green IS and aluminum trailer. See you guys next month.

2nd Thursday coming up next week. May 12.
Lets see what we can do about finding another place and day to meet.
I've suggested before, as long as we are a small crowd, Roadrunner Café, it's not too big. NE corner on 62 Ave at 204 St Langley. Nice little truck stop. Good coffee. 2nd Sat morning, 8 am meet, ride after 9 am.
Only because I don't know anything around New West or Bridgeview (Surrey).

Nice meeting tonight, 1 new rider showed up, George from Maple Ridge, and my wife Tess came along with me. Paul and Jackson where also both there.
We talked about various things, and also where next months meeting will be.
Mike, hope you can make it, we'll be meeting in Langley, at the Roadrunner café. 62 Ave, just E of 204 St.
20475 62 Ave, Langley
Same, but moving to the 2nd Saturday, of each month. 8 am for breakfast, staying till 9 am. After 9 am, might still be there, but expect those wishing to ride will already have their kick stands up and be off.
So next meeting is June 11.

Breakfast tomorrow morning? I intend to be there, with rain gear if needed.
We know where Mike is, so he won't make it this month. Maybe next?
Hope to see you there. 8 am. Gone by 9 am.

2nd Saturday of the month coming up this weekend, Aug 13.
I don't think I'll be there this weekend, will be going up to Whistler to meet a cousin.
I know George and I have been there the last 2 months, but no one else has shown up. I'm thinking of changing it back to the Thursday on Annacis Island, as more people attended there. Might try both one month, and then decide.
Please, if you think you are coming, or have a preference of the location, please reply to this post.

I'm a teacher so we come over and stay with our daughter every Spring Break for two weeks and four to six weeks in the summer. She and her little family live on the south side of Kauai. The amazing Trade Winds blow constantly so it's beautiful here all year round. The temperatures only vary 10 degrees from winter to summer months.
All our fruits, vegetables and breads are grown and made on site and our Hawaiian son-in-law fishes at least twice a week for our meat. We get eggs from a friends chickens and we trap wild pig in the jungle portion of their property. We live off the land when staying with them. It's a really great break from our rush rush world at home. Can't wait to retire and spend six months a year here. I'll probably build a small house on their property soon in preparation for that time of our lives. paul

That is Living! Would love that kind of setting too.
A few solar panels, water heaters, and would be set. How is the water in your are, enough ground water or rain falling, so you can do all you want to do?
I used to watch those shows on Buying Hawaii, people using gerbils or was it guinea pigs, to cut their lawns. Growing fruit in your own trees. Only draw back is building anything. Like 6 months to ship items over form the mainland in a container.

20 miles away at the top of the mountain is one of the wettest places on earth so there is plenty of ground water, river water and water off the roof. We have a water catchment system so we never need to use the county's water. We also have solar panels and we actually put power back into the grid. it's a pretty ideal life style. My son-in-law is a born and raised Kauaian boy and his favorite line is "I Love My Life"!!!! Just put a bucket of limes and a bucket of avocadoes out on the road for anyone to take for free today. We just can't eat all the food that this property produces even though we freeze, can and dehydrate much of it.

Aug 13 meeting, I couldn't make, but we had 1 show up, Roger M, but seems no others.
Hi Roger, hope you can try again next month. That should be Sept 10.
I'm thinking since more show up on a regular bases at the Tim Hortons on Thursday night on Annacis Island, that I'll try both locations in Sept. So 2nd Thursday of the month, Sept 8, 6 pm, at Tim Hortons. Then Sat morning breakfast.
I'm not usually up for riding afterwards, but am trying to promote more in the line of a meet-and-greet.
Hope to see you there.

Hey Gord,
I'm more into riding than a meet-and-greet so I'm off to Vancouver Island this weekend. Taking the ferry over from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, then down to Victoria and then across to Sooke for the night. Sunday will ride further west to Port Renfrew, north to Lake Cowichan and then further north to Nanaimo where we will catch the ferry back to Tsawwassen. Weather is supposed to clear so it should be a great weekend.
Sorry I'm going to miss another meeting. I'll try for October for sure. cheers, paul

Enjoy, sounds like it will be fun. I want to do that ride also. Vic to Sooke, Port Renfrew then up to Lake Cowichan (if I have it right ?), then over to Tofino.
Seems that Tess and I will head up to Kelowna after the Langley breakfast, to Steve's and fixing y exhaust.
My co-worker warned me that Langley is having their Show-N-Shine this weekend, so it will be a mad house there.

Your friend is right! Drove through Langley tonight around dinner time and it was a GONG show. Traffic was at a stand still everywhere. On the way home to White Rock we passed dozens of vintage cars heading in the oppostie direction into Langley. It will be busy with loads of grumpy cagers so you guys be careful and ride sage.

Looks like you're going to get nice weather for your trip to Kelowna and back. Check the weather forecast often though.....Pennask Pass can turn very ugly fast at this time of year. That's the main reason we are heading to the Island. I considered heading up into Okanagan Valley but didn't want to risk hitting snow going either way. Looking forward to hearing your girl once she gets her new pipes!! Ride safe

Made it home safely from the Island tonight. Had a great time! Good weather, amazing scenery, great food and good company. My rear tire has over 14000 miles on it and I started to notice it in the twisties today (badly cupped) so I'll get it replaced this week. Other than that little glitch....the phatt girl ran great!

Home from Kelowna, no more annoying exhaust leak/ticking. The summits where quite cold. 5' C . No snow. Had George and John show up at the VRCC breakfast on Saturday on their Valks, along with my wife Tess and myself, before heading out to Kelowna (Tess, George, and John Thanks SteveH for helping out on the stud removal.
