Mike and all, Sorry for the last minute cancel but with Jerry and Sherry not being able to go that leaves me a 75 mile ride by myself to Sorrento. I don't enjoy riding by myself that far and wife gets nervous when I do. Hope to see all soon at another RTE.

Today was a great day for a ride, and ride I did, about 250 miles from Stuart to Shilohs.
It was a very nice gathering, I enjoyed meeting a lot of the names I have only read previously on the Fl. board and putting them together with a face.
Thanks Sixlow for organizing it, it was a good get together.

You are welcome Bill, nice to meet you. We hope you can make it out more often. We did 250 miles ourselves and didn't want to stop ! By the way, that is one fine ride you have there, next time it needs a better eyeballing from us. Thanks to all who came today, Thanks to those that lead and those that followed and a gorgeous day to boot.

Thanks Mike for organizing this RTE. Good day, good food, and great ride! Thanks to all that came out. After lunch we also went to DeLand and the Bike Rally. Great attendance there as others have stated. I love DeLand, and every day we live there we find more wonderful things about the town.
Viv and I enjoyed meeting a lot of new-to-us riders, and it was good putting Names with faces.

As Pete said, it was another great day for a RTE. I always enjoy myself on these rides, and today was no exception. Like others, I am always happy to be able to put faces with the names I see on the board. It usually takes me a couple of meetings before the face/name connection is permanent, but we all have to start somewhere.
I rode to Deland with Pete and Viv, and Steve, and that part of the ride was great also. I walked around with them for about an hour, as Pete and Viv gave Steve and I the nickel tour of Downtown Deland, pointing out several good Restaurants and a great little Chocolate store. At about 5:00, I decided that my day was getting long enough, and I headed for home. Rolled the Harley into the garage about 6:55, and had about 285 miles for the day.

Thanks for another great ride!! It was good to see all the Valks together and to meet all the new friends and the ones I met before again. By the time I got back to Jax I had a little over 300 miles on my poor butt. I am either going to have to do something about the seat or get used to it soon. Thanks for taking me on roads that I've never traveled before. I am looking forward to more rides with you all.

Hello Doug!! Ya, looks like Mike caught me in chow down mode! Another fantastic call Mike! Thanks for the planning of this meet, always enjoy our get together's no matter the locations. What a group of fine folks, and really like catching up with everyone. Hey Art, nice to meet ya! Pete always special to get to catch up! Always have to thank my Wingman, brother Gil for another safe excellent tour, as we have shared many miles together while we constantly work on our nav, comm, equipment, and riding skills to improve our own comfort and safety while touring. The Florida weather sure played out well for the outing, logged an easy 340 miles or so, and stopped by the world famous Daytona International Speedway for a scan of the people and to check out the new Honda line. A few interesting new models for sure. Well, better I keep it semi short, wouldn't want to make too many spelling errors; bate for the masses! Ride safe, meet ya up the road! James

In the third pic from the bottom I see two bikes parked in a handicap zone. Really guys? People think we're handicapped enough by the fact we ride. Good pics of the group, wish I could have made it but the bike didn't want to cooperate....don't know the source of the trouble yet Well John, where do you suggest us 100% service connected combat disabled Veterans park? Any time you feel the need call the parking police and see what happens! Sad how veterans are treated, your comments are not welcome. Gil

OK you two, I guess that chain I was yanking on must have been attached to a very sensitive part of the anatomy. Relax.....BOTH OF YOU.....I don't have a problem with it! If you recall, TJ also has a HC tag, and FWIW I don't have a problem with any of it. Again, FWIW, I also spent a number of years in the military and didn't come out unscathed. As a result I've been paying for it big time for the last 30+ years. I don't talk about it and DAMN sure don't look upon it as my personal cross to bear, it happened nearly 60 yrs. ago.
Frankly, your responses and attitudes suck. So you didn't like my joke. TS! I'm done.

Disabilities and Handicapped Placards are not a laughing matter. If I was disabled and had the appropriate placard/paperwork, I would have failed to see the humor, also. JMNSHO

I've modified my first post and removed the last one....done in the interest of peace within the group and hope it at least makes a few feel better. I'm unchanged. To go on a such a defensive over a little teasing is ridiculous, I'm well aware of the afflictions faced. Maybe a few lessons from Rita are in order on how to maintain a sense of humor in the face of reality re. those afflictions.
I wish you well.....all of you.

Be nice to have one, about 50% of the time my wife has to use a walker to get around. Every time the gout and arthritis flare up I have to go into a store to get her a motorized cart just so she can get around. But for reasons unknown the doctor is hesitant to sign off so she can get a disabled placard.

Bill, read up on the requirements for an HC tag or hanger. It reads something like "are you able to walk 200' without assistance" or something to that effect. I'd get a printout from the DMV and take it to the dr. then press him for some help.
Over 2 yrs. ago when my hip started to go south on me, the dr. wouldn't give me one either, not even a temporary one. Told me all my troubles were easily treated with shots and they won't issue an HC tag for bursitis. I kept telling the jerks(two different drs.) it wasn't just bursitis and the shots don't work more than a week but they wouldn't listen so I quit going back. Eight shots later I'm still in constant pain. One dr. office called and asked how I was doing and I unloaded on him, so the dufus said to come back in for another shot. My response: "Hey fool, are listening to me?" Then hung up on him, I'm sick of these fatherless sons.

My sentiments also, I some times feel like whacking the doctor up side the head. She gets so bad some times, I have to help her in and out of bed. When she has the attacks, takes her 15 min with a walker to get from one end of the house to another. I am going to get on the doctors case. Especially after last week, she was using her walker to get into the grocery store, and some dufus broad backed into her and knocked her down, skinned up her knees and elbow. If she did not have to park way down the lot would not have happened.
