Dear Friends

The CB radio antenna of my I/S is broken, more precisely in that inner tube that screws it in place in the mount.

What you guys think is the best way to repair it?

Can I order only the part that is broken? Or should I replace it for a new antenna?

Best regards

The mount should still be good. Take it to your local communication store and see what they have for you.

If they can't do it, then look for another replacement.

I bought a GL1200 mount, and now need to get an antenna into it.

Dear Friends

Thanks a lot for the tips, there is a CB/Ham radio near home, I will stop there and check if it can be repaired.

An update (and adding information that might be useful for others): I visited the Radio shop and was told the antenna is an old style (30 years) and that I was pretty much hosed.

So I searched the forum and found this post:

And, guess what? This Sierra antenna is a perfect fit to the I/S. See attached some photos:

Thanks cef2lion for writing the original thread.
