I heard about this bill but didn't know it failed. I would never support a helmet law but I always wear safety gear. ATGATT. I find it ironic that most motorcyclists probably wear seat belts. Why isn't there a protest movement to remove seatbelt laws. I try to make my personal policies consistent. If everyone had to clean up brain matter, as I have, they would take another approach to safety.

A helmet has saved me twice. But I have on occasion ridden without. Not too much though. But I have to admit I never wear a seatbelt. I'm not in favor of mandatory laws except for children. At 18 you should be able to decide for yourself.

I do not support Helmet laws. I do wear a Helmet and my Seat Belt at all times.

Have never needed the Helmet but the Seat Belt has saved me from injury several times, including the time I found myself hanging from it when the action stopped.

You should be aware that Juries have taken Helmet and Seat Belt use into consideration when issuing a verdict.

If this is what you are asking about, a portion of the blame for injuries is assigned to the person not wearing a protective device.

If you are Picky like Ron and want me to cite case law you are out of luck. Smiley

" But I have to admit I never wear a seatbelt. I'm not in favor of mandatory laws "   Respectfully mister Head how do you operate
your Valkyrie and other vehicles in Arizona without following the mandatory insurance law ? Either you must be insured through a company
or self insured through self insure with a 40K bond. Mandatory.....

I never leave my house without my helmet........but I would never vote for a helmet law........freedom of  choice.............there is a hidden law that states........if you are injured in a motorcycles accident and you aren't wearing your helmet......the person at fault doesn't have to pay...........just sayin....

My life insurance will not pay if I'm killed in a motorcycle wreck without a DOT helmet in place
